As part of a general effort to produce a few things that are a little more direct & accessible, & also excersisize some self discipline in completing abandoned studies I have laying around. This is an abandoned color study for the Brumangsia painting. This version of course is direct color instead stacked layers, also the final version I decided to crop more, so this will still be somewhat unique compared to the final painting. #oilpainting #figurepainting

Obligatory varnish vid. One of the luxuries of not being a professional artist, you can let things sit around untouched for a year before committing to it being finished, if you like. The caveat is you can very easily find yourself not putting brush to canvas at all for the same amount of time & wondering wth happened?

I know I haven't been pounding the brush as much as usual for a few months now, but I can assure you it's for simple life reasons that aren't in the least bit interesting. However, this is why you should not expect any better of me when spring rolls around. Can't help but feel so fucking privileged that this is my yard, any spare moment not playing in the mud feels like sacrilege. I thank you for patience. 🤗
