HOW does this relate to your BUSINESS and WEBSITE?

ONLINE BUSINESS is a lot like DATING. 💋

Quirks that would most likely put you off during a date, such as:

➡️ Talking about themselves non-stop
➡️ Showing no real interest in who you are or what you enjoy
➡️ Focussing on what they have to offer rather than really taking the time to get to know you

Are also things that would most likely repel your customers when it comes to your website.

At the moment, your website is probably sounding a lot like Gunner. You might be saying things like…

😖 “My business works with creatives to provide brand and portrait photography…"
😖 “I am passionate about my [service offering] and working with….”

The problem with these examples is that they directly relate to what YOU do, not who your potential client is and what they NEED.

When people land on your website, they have NO REASON to stick around because they're confused about whether you're the person to help them. 

You may have the skills. You may have the talent...

But what your audience really wants to know is whether you can take them from WHERE THEY ARE NOW to WHERE THEY WANT TO BE as a result of purchasing from you.

My partner, Lachie, and I know this feeling all too well. 

In April 2019, we moved from Adelaide to Perth, Western Australia. 

After a full four days of driving across the Australian outback, we arrived in a brand new city with nothing but a car filled with belongings and an AirBNB booking for the first week. 

We literally had NO IDEA where we were going to live after that. 🙈

I remember the very first open inspection we went to. 

As we approached the unit rental, we were suddenly greeted with a large pile of dirty sneakers placed just outside the front door. 🤢

'Can you please remove your shoes?', the agent requested.

'Ermmm ok...', as we added ours to a pile of five other pairs.

We took one step inside and immediately knew that it wasn't for us. 

The carpet was covered in dirt. There was a makeshift door cut out of one of the walls.

Thirty seconds in... We'd seen enough. 

It was safe to say that this place looked NOTHING like the images we had browsed online. 😖

Come to think of it, that's what online business is like. 

There's the perfect social media shot...

🏝 You know.. the “laptop lifestyle”? Sipping cocktails on a beach. Working an hour a day by the pool. 🏝

Versus the REAL reality...

😳 Personal growth. Self doubt. Trial and error. Massive highs. Massive lows. Wins. Lessons. More lessons. Even more lessons. 😳

Running your own business is challenging. In fact, for the last four years, I've contemplated giving up almost every week.

But I haven't. And that's what has made the difference.
