I'm curious: If you had a small/modified wedding in 2020 but are having your big wedding in 2021, what are you calling it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Wedding Sequel • Encore Wedding • Anniversary Party • Vow Renewal • Grand Finale • Marriage Celebration • Wedding Reception • or something else? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, which date are you going to celebrate annually as your wedding anniversary: the first date, second date, or both? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There's no one right answer, I'm just curious what your preferences are! :) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #nycwedding #manhattanwedding #nycmicrowedding #essexhouse #theparker #linpernilleweddings

At this point, I feel like it would be easier for weather reports to just let us know the days it’s NOT going to snow. 😂 I can’t remember any other winter that it’s snowed this many days!! Trying to just be grateful for the beautiful winter wonderland outside my window and ignore all the snow blowing I’m going to have to do all over again. 🙃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #winterwonderland #winterwedding #nycwinter #snowywedding #furshawl #linpernillebride #linpernilleweddings

I just finished reading "Real Artists Don't Starve" by Jeff Goins and I *wish* this had been required reading when I was in the BFA program in college... 🙄 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We were told incessantly that if our work was even remotely "commercial" (aka appealing to be purchased by clients/customers), it wasn't true "art." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It infuriated me that students paid thousands of dollars on tuition only to be taught how NOT to make money as an artist and shamed for even having any desire to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I repeatedly received bad critiques because my work was too "sweet" and "joyful" and "pleasant" and "commercial". In their eyes, it was only "art" if it was dark, angsty, depressing, and created only for myself, not for anyone else. (I laugh hysterically at that now because that's exactly the opposite of what someone would want from a wedding photographer. 😂 ) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In my senior year, even though I had gone through 3.5 years of the curriculum and could've just "sucked it up" for one last semester, I decided to stand up for my beliefs and drop out of the program. I took an "I" (which translated to an "F") for the course and wrote a strongly worded letter to the head of the program and the Dean of the College of the Arts about my thoughts. After being a straight A student, teacher's pet, and goody-two-shoes my entire life, this was one of the scariest yet gutsiest things I've ever done in my life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [continued in comments...]

I love love. In all forms, celebrated in all ways. Ever since I was a little girl, Valentine’s Day has been my favorite holiday (makes sense that I literally work in the love industry now 😂). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Around this time every year, I see so many posts about people hating on Valentine’s Day and it hurts my soul. 😣 If you hate Valentine’s Day, I have a feeling you’re interpreting the purpose of the day all wrong and missing out on a beautiful opportunity. I don’t look at Valentine’s Day as a day when you “have to” dote on your loved ones, I look at is as an *occasion* when you *get to* dote on your loved ones. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (Also, if it feels like a “burden” to spoil your partner, you might be in the wrong relationship... 🙄) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We live such busy, hectic lives. Any occasion to slow down and take some dedicated time to appreciate all the people you love is a beautiful idea in my book. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus, why wouldn’t you love any opportunity to write cheesy, punny cards?! 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Relationships need nurturing. All relationships. With friends and family members too (and self love!). To me, this holiday is a reminder to tell the people you love what they mean to you - at *least* one day per year (at a bare minimum! No one says you can’t make romantic gestures any other day of the year as well). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating love, however you choose to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #linpernilleweddings #whiteroses #valentinesday #longstemroses #floraldesign #epicflorals ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I love when couples exchange letters on their wedding morning. It’s one of my favorite sources of audio to include in the highlight video. It allows the couple to share their thoughts and tell their story in their own words, and there’s nothing more special than hearing all the excitement, nerves, and emotion in your own voices as you share your feelings on one of the biggest days of your life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the #LinPernilleCouples Facebook group today, I’m sharing a bunch of tips for how to write your own letters or vows (could also apply to Valentine’s Day love letters! 🥰) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉 fb.com/groups/linpernillecouples ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #linpernillecouples #linpernilleweddings #loveletters #weddingmorningletters #weddingdayletters #vowwriting #letterwriting

I'm curious to see how many of the 2020 wedding trends are going to stick around long after the virus is gone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm actually a big fan of the personal backyard weddings, intimate microweddings at smaller venues, adventurous elopements in beautiful locations, spaced out ceremony & reception seating, Zoom livestreaming for guests who can't attend, and the more hygienic pre-wrapped silverware and single-serve food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What trends do you hope stick around? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Venue: @monteverde_at_oldstone Florals: @maple_field_floral Planner: @staceyrogann Lighting: @stortzlighting ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #hudsonvalleywedding #tentedwedding #outdoorwedding #hudsonvalleymicrowedding #nymicrowedding #2020weddings #covidwedding #linpernilleweddings

The best poses are always the tender, genuine, completely candid moments. 🤍
