Engagement sessions are the best times to get joyful, candid photos. On your wedding day, there can be so many stresses and so much pressure to see and talk to all of your guests. Not to mention, you’re typically wearing the most expensive suit/dress you’ll ever wear! That’s why I love getting my couples moving and laughing at e-sessions while they are entirely comfortable! Maura and Matt were all giggles from the beginning, which made capturing their love SO darn easy! ▫️ Session co-shot by me and my associate @katherine.bowes
Now that my wedding season has come to a close, I’ve been spending some time looking back on the beautiful couples and I was able to meet and the gorgeous weddings I had the privilege of capturing. If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, it’s that there are no wrong answers when it comes to your wedding. No two couples are the same, which means there’s not one timeline, formula, or recipe that works for everyone. Think about how you want to feel on your wedding day and build your wedding around that! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▫️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Second shooting for @trishburtzel
Happy #seniorsunday, y’all!! After serving over 30 seniors this season, I realized I have so many gorgeous seniors who haven’t yet showed up on my feed! Luckily I have plenty of time left in this school year to catch up! Lauryn was such a sweet soul who was a complete natural in front of the camera. Swipe to see just a small sampling of her shoot. Literally every shot was perfection. Seriously, when did every senior become a model?!
Sangeetha and Chris planned their wedding in just a few months. They were so excited to get married and figured, why wait? The two shared the sweetest wedding day on a Sunday in September at the beautiful Bavaria Downs surrounded by friends and family from (literally) all around the world. Sangeetha mixed traditional Indian elements into their day while also displaying Chris's Norwegian heritage. They ended the night with two first dances: one traditional and one fun, swing dance that showed off their skills on the dance floor. I absolutely love when couples add personal touches and make their wedding day uniquely them. There is no wrong answer when it comes to planning, so plan your wedding with what feels right to YOU. ▫️ Associate shooting on behalf of @trishburtzel
A little rain can’t stop my excitement to capture Marissa and Will’s big day today! After a weekend off, I’m feel rested and ready to get back into the wedding grind. Can’t wait to capture another sweet couple’s love story! ▫️ Associate shooting for @trishburtzel
Who else is ready to ROCKtober?!? This month finally marks a slow-down for me, and it is MUCH. NEEDED. I feel myself just craving family time and evenings at home reading books (Harry Potter to be specific). I have so much to look forward to in the coming months, and I finally feel like I have a clearer mind to process all the excitement ahead! This month, I’m looking forward to a sister weekend of bridesmaids dress shopping for one of TWO family weddings coming up in 2020. What’s something you’re looking forward to this month? I wanna hear your plans for Spooky Season in the comments! 👇🏼
Don’t get me wrong, I’m so ready for this fall weather, but I am mourning the end of #seniorseason. As the weather cools, I’m looking back on some of the incredible seniors I’ve met, like Ellie here. It was literally one of the hottest days of summer (I was a dripping sweaty mess behind the camera), yet Ellie managed to still look #FLAWLESS for her whole session. I’m seriously in awe of my seniors this year with their fashion sense, drive, and maturity!
I’ve had the pleasure of capturing multiple Sunday weddings this year. I expected these days to maybe be low-energy, to feel different than a “normal” wedding. Instead, I found these weddings to really feel the same. If anything, they were more sweet and intimate and emotional. Amber & Ryan’s day at Almquist Farm was gorgeous, and their color palette was to die for! Bring on more Sunday weddings in 2020 and beyond!
This week has been an opportunity to slow down for me! I only have one shoot and an open weekend to spend with family and friends. This time has been CRITICAL for me and my mental health, and it made me realize just how crazy the last few months have been! ▫️ That being said, how are YOU doing? What are your current “highs” and “lows?” ▫️ Second shooting for @trishburtzel
You guys. I made it through my September weddings. 7 love stories in 3 weekends. 2 triple-headers. 6 weddings in 10 days. I look at all those numbers and I’m just so dang proud (and happy I survived)! I used to dream of capturing couples’ big days, and I tried hard over the past few weeks to honor that dream rather than complain about the busy-ness! If you want to hear more about my September weddings and how I survived not one, but TWO triple header weekends, jump over to the link in my bio to read my latest blog post!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▫️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pic by @livingphotog, second shooting for @trishburtzel
