Meghan’s bridal details were to die for! I can’t stop staring at those blush earrings! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▫️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Brides, gather all the pretty accessories you’re wearing on your big day before you get your dress on and set them aside in a box for your photographer on your wedding day. We love capturing all the little things so you can remember every detail of your day! As an added bonus, I always have my styling mat surfaces with me on wedding days so there’s a clean background to highlight your pretty little details! I’ve been loving this blue watercolor one for all the blue wedding palettes I’m seeing in 2020/2021.
365 days until I get to marry this smart, funny, loving, patient, and talented man! ▫️ As a wedding photographer, it’s strange and exciting to finally be planning my own wedding, and it’s even stranger in the time of COVID-19. However uncertain times have felt lately, one thing I’m absolutely certain of is committing to life with my best supporter and becoming Mrs. Benson! 💍 Let the countdown begin!
Since many weddings are not happening this year, engagement sessions have been giving me life! I’ve missed working with couples photographing their happiest moments. It feels so good to be capturing happy memories for couples again!
Have to do a quick birthday shoutout to the amazingly talented @christina.b.johnson! This girl’s work has been featured on @HGTV and you can find her work on display at @thehuttonhouse this year. Go give her a follow for her bday (and swoon over her work like I do every day)!
Swipe for tear-jerking amazingness ❤️ ▫️ When I posted some sneak peeks of Meghan and Tyler’s wedding to my stories, I received such an outpouring of love for the images, but these two deserve all the credit! They decided to have a small ceremony on their original wedding date, and it was the most beautiful wedding day. I was so proud of how Meghan and Tyler pivoted and made the best of an incredibly unfortunate situation. I will never forget the relaxed, joyful feeling of this day, and I hope this wedding serves as inspiration for other 2020 couples who are in the same tough position. Love always wins, friends, and don’t let COVID take away what really matters on your wedding day!
In my opinion, there is nothing better than capturing a bride getting ready on her wedding day. The mix of joy and nerves and anticipation is palpable, and there’s something about spending that time with your closest family and gal pals. Brides: ask your photographer to arrive right as you’re about to put on your dress! That way they can capture all those joyful, final moments before you get to see your fiancé!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▫️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Second shot for @trishburtzel
You guys, Meghan and Tyler are getting married tomorrow!! These two lovebirds are holding on to their original date and having a small wedding ceremony with close family and friends. I am SO excited to get back to capturing these pivotal moments for couples, and I hope it serves as inspiration for others who are in the midst of wedding planning. When it comes down to it, your love will win, and getting married to your person is all that matters!
As a photographer, it may be crazy to hear me say I never considered myself a “creative” person. Those who know me know I’m a hyper-organized, planning maniac, book nerd. I like order and clear steps, formulas and systems. If you had told me in high school I would make a career of photography, I would have thought you were crazy! However, as I’ve grown my business, I’ve learned that photography is only a sliver of what I do. Between emails, marketing, editing, copywriting, social media management, bookkeeping, and so much more, actually taking photos takes up only a fraction of my “work” time. I now realize my organizational skills are a gift and have helped me progress so much farther in photography than I ever would have expected. ▫️ During this strange year, I’m challenging myself to tap into the creative side more. To let my camera lead me more than my conscience. Here’s to letting go!
Currently doing a little happy dance out of excitement for all the seniors I get to see this week! My first round of cap & gown mini sessions is on Friday, and I cannot WAIT to get behind the camera again and celebrate some seniors! What are you excited for this week?
I am SO excited to get back to this!!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▫️As of Monday, photographers in Minnesota have been allowed to resume business as long as they adhere to social distancing guidelines. I think I’ve made pretty good use of this slow season so far but I can’t wait to get back behind the camera and CREATE again! Thank the lord for this little baby step back to normal life!
