• S E L F - L O V E . . . . It’s Day 2 of our self-love week ! So this is an excerpt from the latest on the blog. . Ahh self-love. Sadly, many people tend to treat self-love as a reward for finally becoming the person they want to be. This implies that their self love is subject to them being objectively ‘good’ or ‘successful.’ . But, as the great Rumi said, 'Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.' . Self-love is a state of appreciation for yourself that grows from actions that support your physical, psychological and spiritual growth. . As such, self-love is confident, warm and caring. It’s the complete acceptance of who, and what you are – the appreciation and affirmation of yourself. It’s the unconditional support, self-care, and compassion you give yourself that ultimately translates to good health, great self-esteem, happiness, total balance and well-being. . Self love is, therefore, a basic necessity; a fundamental positive value that leads to inner peace and happiness. 💕 . It’s also open and honest — it’s the ultimate commitment : to get to know and accept yourself as you are; to fully experience life as it happens to you; to continually seek ways to physically, psychologically and spiritually grow from these experiences. . Besides all that Valentine’s love-liness, this month’s the perfect time to honour love in general — and that includes that all-important s e l f - l o v e . . . 💕 . There’s no doubt that feelings motivate us : we do many things because we want to feel great ! . But when we become more aware of the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and we take time to develop a positive mindset and some emotional awareness, we know that this process starts within. . And one of the most important things we can do ‘within’ ourselves, is to truly love ourselves. . So what is self-love? . It’s not about selfishly refusing to care for or help one else. . It IS about giving yourself the time, attention and care that you need. . So what does that look like for you? ✨🦋 . Taking a leaf out of my own book (aka my own medicine 😆 ) and : . > Getting out in nature . . > Taking the time to savour all the senses . > Journaling every morning (I used to think I couldn’t write fast enough to keep up with my thoughts, even when these were more meditative / slower — but it’s giving me so much pleasure, motivation and content !!) . > Planning ahead in what I’m calling ‘consciously creating’ — (ie not enough holiday for me last year is something I’m going to rectify !) 💫 . I know there are loads more ways to freshen the perspective and get in the right groove to seize the day — feel free to share yours ! ✨🦋 . . . . . . . . #seizetheday #freshperspective #motivation

  • F R E S H - S T A R T . . . . It’s never too late for a fresh start — or to get clear on our 2020 visions (even if it is nearly at the end of January !) . I have taken the start of this year very slowly, letting grief run its course without rushing it, and have been dedicating my early mornings to my own healing and natural flow. I’m so glad I have, as for once I’ve started the year nurturing myself with rest, quiet candlelit evenings and all those things it’s good to do regularly to maintain balance. . So, my outlook each morning is that every new day presents an opportunity for a fresh start or to begin a new chapter. 🌱 . He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past. . If (like me) your New Year didn’t start quite as you’d hoped, then tonight we need look no further than the moon for our inspiration for renewal, since a new moon is also a time for rebirth — when we can find the courage and power to finally break free of old thought patterns, emotional reactions and habits we have outgrown. . The things that we have worn as masks in an attempt to to shield ourselves are, in reality, standing in our way and keeping us from being truly honest with ourselves. . This new moon asks us to reflect on where we are feeling energetically blocked and lethargic, and reminds us that there is an infinite source of divine light available all around us. . It’s also inspiring to know the first new moon of the decade ✨ will rise in Aquarius, a sign known for rebellion, forward-thinking, and community. ❤️ .
