Michael proposed to Emily during a Disney half marathon, so it was only fitting to do some running photos on their wedding day.👑💍🏃♀️
During family mini-sessions I always try to grab a few photos of just the parents! This is one of my favorites from a few moments with Chastin and Casie. 😊 P.S. love the colors they wore for their session. It goes perfectly with the mountains in the background.👌
"I'm at my breaking point." Those are words I remember thinking. Earlier last week I spent time reflecting on quarter 3 and skimmed my journal entries from June through August. I can see the stress in my writing and hear the irritability in my words. By June life had picked back up again. Wedding season was back in full swing (well 75% I'd say). We were busier than ever at the CrossFit gym. Personal/life things with the husband’s job. I said "yes" to too many things and didn't say no enough to things that didn't align with me. My boundaries were pushed to their limits. Daily I was really struggling to stay in a good head space. . . I'm a very internal person. Most of my feelings and thoughts stay inside my mind. Outside people might notice I'm in an off mood and that's about it. Writing is and has always been the place I use as an outlet for my feelings. Writing is where I process things. My journals and my people, like my husband and my family, are the ones who get glimpses into the times I'm struggling. When my husband told me multiple times that I need to cut back because he could see the toll "too much" was taking on me it was a big sign to reevaluate priorities. . . Fast forward to mid-October and I'm in a much better place. September started the slowing down of a few things and the cutting back. My schedule is still very full, but feels manageable. I have space to breathe and to focus on the things that need the most time and energy from me. . . I heard on a podcast the other day that when your mind reaches the "I'm at my breaking point" place, it's a red flag to start making changes before something forces you to change. No one else is in charge of making sure you are in a good place. It's up to you. Protect your time. Protect your energy. Protect and continually work on your mindset. Your thoughts have so much power over the direction of your day. Work on them.
✨Favorite Things Lately: I used to do posts like this on my personal blog and after reading a few lately I thought I'd do it in a post today. Feel free to tell me something you've been loving lately too! 👇 . . #1 Taking evening walks for 15-20 minutes to listen to a podcast or to call...my mom usually. It helps me shut down from work for the evening too.🎧 . . #2 I've been loving the show Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon Prime and of course the latest season of British Bake Off. 🍰👌 . . #3 Curling my hair with my Kristin Ess hair wand! Being able to curl my hair on occasion has been a fun change from my normal straight look. 💁♀️ . . Ok your turn! What have you been loving lately?! 👇
Sunset photos that turned into moonrise photos. 🌕 This photo is one of my favorites from Nakia & Neil's wedding just because it's a little different.✌️
Open white reception space with vibrant florals in the background. 💕Love this view from Emily & Michael’s wedding at The Manor House. 😍
