When I started my photography business 3 years ago I felt so alone. I was living overseas and there wasn't much of a photography community there. I graduated from Youtube University and still had no clue how to operate my Canon Rebel T6. I felt less than because I didn't know how to switch my settings accurately or quickly. Therefore, I lived in semi manual mode forever until I finally got the exposure triangle down. Because I know how that feels I try my hardest to answer questions about well...anything. I always want there to be a sense of community around me. I don't see others as competition, I see them as an opportunity for me and them to grow. 𝐈𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐫𝐨𝐧! When people ask me to mentor them I am still in disbelief because all I can think is "who am I?" I am a forever student when it comes to this business and photography thing so its an honor when I am asked to mentor. Thank you for seeing something in me that I don't always see in myself. I am happy to announce that I have openings for mentor sessions in January. So visit the link in my bio to schedule a clarity call so we can discuss what your goals are for photography in 2021! 📸: @and.nixonphotography

It’s the love between you..for me! I seriously live for those in between moments. Those candid moments where you all are just being a family. For most people when they consider getting family portraits they think of... “say cheese” images. Those are cool and all but its the emotive moments that we value. The children won’t always be this small so lets capture them hugging on to dads leg, or having a tickle sesh with mommy. These are the moments we try to capture in our memories, why not have them digitally and well physically (PRINT YOUR PHOTOS PEOPLE) My workflow is set up to knockout those “send to grandma” photos and then on to living in the moment captures. In my Client Prep Guide I express the importance of not stressing out about your photography session. No need to get frustrated with the kids because they aren’t looking at the camera... or because they are just over it, same for Dads too. It is not too late to book a family session before the upcoming holidays. To book visit the link in my bio or BeautyGazer.com Now before you go and do that, tell me about the craziest thing that has happened to you at a photo shoot. Join me in the comments to read mine 😩😳😅

65 years ago today Rosa Parks also known as the "First Lady of Civil Rights" decided that she was too tired to get up and let a white man take her seat in the "coloured" section of the bus. That sparked the Montgomery bus boycott. And for over one year the black residents of Montgomery carpooled, walked or used black-operated cabs. Talk about sparking change! There is something in each and every one of us to spark change for our neighbors and the future. Rosa Parks said "I believe we are here on the planet Earth to live, grow up, and do what we can to make this world a better place for all people to enjoy freedom." What we do now matters! Spark change by sparking joy! What are some ways you spark change or joy in your community? Drop them in the comments.
