This last week has been full of the sweetest new babes, and their 2 year old big brothers! 3 different families; a birth, fresh 48 & two newborn sessions- all welcoming little ones alongside their busy boys! I actually visited the Young Family (seen here!) in Atlanta this weekend during our trip! We even managed a 3 generation portrait with both sets of grandparents! Let’s just say, chocolate has been used as a treat motivator more than once, loooooots of tickles have happened, & baby shark singing/ coming to munch on toes has lead to laughs (🤣) These sessions with busy & independent big bothers are truly an Olympic sport for everyone, but I can only imagine how special it must be to have photos of your sweet new family at home 💛 For more behind the scenes of these sessions and a Q&A about props, gear, light & prep, check my stories today before they expire! 👶📸✨ #laurafootephoto #lifestylenewbornphotography
Time, y’all. It is the craziest thing to me; how it can warp from feeling like forever to a blink moment to moment and year to year. Especially in this season, I find myself so very grateful for the moments I grab my camera to capture everyday life in the simple corners we spend the most time in 💓 Mackey reading one of her favorite big sister books today in her tepee tent (a reward for a happy potty day, a memory I also want, ha!), side by side with baby Mackey two years ago after naptime; photos I took to help me leave her for a week long cruise! This lifestyle at home approach is also how I spend time with my newborn families, but I rarely get to do it for families with older kiddos just wanting to remember life in that moment. So, I’m doing something I truly n e v e r do... 4 spots are now open for March + April 2020 lifestyle family sessions in Tampa. 1-1.5 hours of hanging out at home; making a favorite snack together, jumping on beds, drawing with sidewalk chalk— doing whatever you all love to do most 💛 These sessions will be steeply discounted to $295 for the portrait time + a FULL gallery of edited images. Spots open on a first come first serve basis and can be reserved by emailing
✨ SO excited about this!! Yes to all the everyday moments this year 🏡💛📸 #laurafootephoto #tampa #lifestylephotography #footesintheheights
The world is sweeter today thanks to you, little Emmett!! After a 30+ hour labor, and pushing that took over an hour, Kat experienced a beautiful & successful V-BAC and it was truly incredible to witness! She jokingly thanked me for being her “birth coach and photographer” but I’m telling you what, mamas don’t realize how strong they are and how much they can do with just encouragement surrounding them 💛 @tghcares creates spaces for this every time I’m there and it’s always an honor to enter in!! I came back today when big bro Callan was there, too, and just couldn’t get enough of this family together 💓 Fresh 48s are quick, but priceless and timeless. I hope to continue educating and sharing so more families consider them! For now, here’s all the precious squish I think y’all can handle tonight 👶🥰📸 #laurafootephoto #fresh48 #hibaby #4thtrimester #newborn
Cheers to the weekend!✨ I get to have a little road trip + slumber party wedding weekend with the insanely talented @debraeby, 2nd shooting with her in Naples tomorrow! Summer weather is back so I’m ready for sunshine soaked images and an excuse to pit stop for a chocolate shake 🤣 What are your weekend plans? P.S. Truly couldn’t love this group of beauties more. I shot Ashley’s (right) wedding in 2016 and she + her bridesmaids (many seen here, including Caitlin!!) were some of the first I told I was pregnant with Mac! Fast forward to October and I got to tell them all over again about Allie on C’s day. They have become family to me and are going in both my girl’s baby books as milestone biz/mama moments that met us with such love!! 💓 #storieslovewrites #laurafootephoto
In that feeling like a half cooked cinnamon roll stage and couldn’t be more grateful 💛 The number of 2020 babes coming into this world & currently being carried by many of my very dearest friends is overwhelming in the best of ways and making this season insanely sweet. New life after infant loss and after miscarriage. New life amid health issues. Adoption. New life after a recent baby. First babies. Second babies. Every story is represented in this sweet circle God has surrounded me with. I wish you could all know them; their journeys would stop you in your tracks in the best of ways. And after savoring my pregnancy with Mac, but walking much of it alone in a year of total social transition, I just don’t have words for how much more beautiful this has been and will continue to be because of these other mamas. Their stories, families, tears, laughs, and general presence refine me and I know they love this baby cinnamon roll Allie girl dearly already too. What. A. Gift ✨ And to a mama in the hurt. Waiting. Lonely. Unknown. He sees you & you are so loved 💓#5monthspregnant #lifeincommunity #ouralliemargaret
Back to normal rhythms + work tomorrow after nearly 3 weeks off 💛 It was my first time ever taking that kind of time away over J’s winter break; no shoots, auto responder up, and it was SO wonderful. To miss the work is a wonderful thing, and I’m ready for 2020, but my gear tucked into my office with the lights off was also the right thing too 💕 If you’re hoping to take a vacation or break this year, here are 3 simple ways I prepped that might be helpful! 1.) I blocked the dates early in the year & decided then what opportunities, should they arise, would be yes’s/no’s. So I couldn’t get stuck feeling bad saying “no without a reason” or “yes and then wishing I hadn’t”. Anyone else struggle with this? 2.) I intentionally saved a % of my fall mini session deposits (collected back in August) to be transferred within my accounts late versus when the work was done. It moved mid-late December from my “future income” holding account (I have 5 different biz bank accounts I manage 😜 #nerd) to my business checking and then December and January payroll. No paychecks missed; such a gift! 3.) I decided how I wanted to use this time. When you do something you seriously love, stepping away often feels unnecessary (to me at least), but I knew we needed empty days to do anything... or nothing.... without me squeezing in an email here or gallery delivery there. Making the time valuable helped me stick with protecting it and enjoying it. I’d love to hear your advice if you’ve taken leave like this before! I’ve got another little window in May (baby month!) and already spent much of fall prepping, but am inspired to think through what else I could consider this spring leading up after this time! ✨🙏 #laurafootephoto #lfpbts - Image of my real bride @_stacydavis, and who let me shoot these at sunrise the day after her wedding because I couldn’t handle how gorgeous she was 😍💛 This dress + #thenelsonatkinsmuseumofart ... Love!
