• For our fabrics we use recycled and locally sourced materials. Fashion and interior textiles are produced at the weaving mill from discarded work clothing, worn jeans, old T-shirts and waste from the clothing industry. We develop our (colourful) textiles from both post-industrial and post-consumer waste. In addition, we only work with European yarn suppliers, to minimise the environmental impact and to produce fairly. We are specialised in making sustainable fabrics that last!

In the picture you can see our recycled cotton yarn, made from old T-shirts. The shirts are collected, sorted and then mechanically shredded. From the fibres, yarns are made which we then transform into woven cloth. At the moment, our fabrics contain a maximum of 78% recycled yarn, our goal is to eventually create a 100% recycled cloth.

  • In recent weeks we have introduced our partners in the TexPlus Foundation. Together with the 5 other partners in the foundation, we want to close the loop and locally produce circular textiles from start to finish.

Enschede Textielstad produces fashion and interior fabrics with recycled and locally sourced yarns. All our fabrics are woven in Enschede. Our aim is to bring locally produced yarns, fair wages and the textile industry back to the place where it all began.

Through the collaboration in the TexPlus foundation we hope to be able to organise the supply chain even more locally and use even more post-consumer waste in our fabrics.

  • Frankenhuis is our TexPlus foundation partner for mechanical recycling. In their factory in Haaksbergen, they process huge amounts of textile waste into fibres for various applications. They are also specialised in confidential destruction; textiles that would normally be incinerated for safety reasons (e.g. uniforms) are shredded by Frankenhuis so that they can be recycled after all. There are some great developments coming up with Frankenhuis and the other TexPlus partners!
