Hi, I'm Heather Yvonne and I used to hate being in front of the camera! I'm the worlds worst self-critique. I've seen a few new faces around here, so I wanted to do a fun little #fridayintroductions with some of the basics you may not know about me if you haven’t been following awhile: 1️⃣ Some of my friends called me HYP growing up (which are my initials), hence the business name. 2️⃣Feather was also a nickname when I was little and while I was a teenager, hence the logo. 3️⃣I'm a real shopoholic. Like it's a real problem. It actually releases endorphins and makes me calmer and happier. I'm sorry to the one who marries me...I'll clearly be in charge of the finances. LOL 4️⃣I'm a recent first time home buyer (just hit my year anni). I've found and been able to live out my second passion of decorating and interior designing. I'm not a professional but I LOVE it! 5️⃣I'm from a small town outside Charlotte. Born and raised in the south. Although I did live in NYC for a hot minute and worked for Sports Illustrated. I have a small tug to the city life but you can't take the south out of the girl - it will always be home. Stick around, you might learn some more interesting facts 😘
Quick tip for engagement sessions: Chose something different or unique to YOU! 🤔 If your fiancee is a pilot and you can get access to a hanger or a runway, by all means let's go! You two spend a lot of time out on the lake? Let’s get on a boat! For Sara and Noah, they chose the Biltmore because it was where Noah proposed and their families have season passes so they visit there all the time! I’m always up for an adventure and something new!! Think out of the box a little.
Does your photographer work through swollen ant bitten ankles to get all the best photos? Just me? K, cool! 👍🏼 😹 Y'all this review had me laughing at myself. It's not the first time I've gotten bit by an ant during a session, and probably won't be the last, but let's just say I now carry Benadryl cream, spray and medicine with me to every shoot/wedding. #allergictoants 🐜 Heather is amazing! She did our engagement session, the bridals and our wedding. As a friend, she did an amazing job of keeping everything professional and making sure that we got all the pictures we needed! She taught us basic poses during our engagement session so by the wedding we were more comfortable in front of the camera! Her attitude/personality is one of the things that makes the whole experience way better! During our wedding she got bit by ants and even with a swollen ankle but she didn’t let that stop her from doing an amazing job on our photos!! These are the photos that we will be looking back at for years to come and they are absolutely amazing! We are extremely thankful and grateful that Heather was our photographer!! She will definitely be our go to photographer for the future!! Thanks for being you!!
During the chaos of wedding morning I love helping pause and truly make you feel like a bride on your wedding day. Every little detail counts. Don't worry girl, I got your back 😉
It all starts with you! Word of mouth has been the most tried and true form of marketing for any business owner since the beginning of time! How did Jesus grow his following? Think about it… 🙃 If you’re a past client in anyway, even if I shot your family portraits 4 years ago when I hardly considered myself a professional, I thank you. I am so so grateful for you. This week I challenge you, if I've ever taken photos of you to leave me a review in the following places - The Knot, Google and Facebook - share your experience and how you felt. I will send you surprise prints from your most recent session with me! If you aren't sure of what to say, I've written a blog with three super easy tips and suggestions on how to write a review
Hello weekend with no plans! In the midst of the busiest season of the year I’m feeling grateful for two days with nothing on the calendar. Rest is needed. 😴 Can we talk about the reality behind this picture? Made an unexpected trip to Charleston last week with @kevyndixonphoto . We both didn’t pack enough cute outfits for headshots and pictures in Charleston. So we decided to go to Target and get a couple dresses for the sole purpose to take pics and then return them once we got home 😂 I picked out 4 and only wore 3. We walked and drove all around Charleston taking pictures of each other twirling, laughing, and feeling awkward with a bunch of people starring lol. It was so much fun and I’m happy to say I ended up keeping this dress AND we both have super cute pics 💁🏼♀️ I truly felt like those big name bloggers and now know what they really go through to get that perfectly curated Insta-worthy photo!
