I paid $5 for a cup of black drip coffee yesterday, so let’s just say the city life is not for me. 🙃 BUT, I also had my first açaí bowl from @hellojuicestl so you win some you lose some. ;) (Still secretly hoping @hydroflask will someday sponsor me 🙏🏻)
Spending my Friday blogging engagement sessions, baking bread (!!!), trying not to get too excited about the sunshine & prepping details for @longrowlavender’s spring opening! So grateful for what this life holds and the excitement of each new season. Happy Friday, y’all! 🤗
If you’re new around here - I’m Jessica! Or if we’re close, it’s usually Jess. I have an abiding love for hot sauce (if it doesn’t make your eyes water, it’s not hot enough), always buy plane tickets on the fly, have a love/hate relationship with Instagram, and am currently learning the value of being a good listener. ;) I’m reading @shannanwrites book, The Ministry of Ordinary Places, and was so challenged by this quote, “God created our five senses as a way for us to understand our world - and Jesus referred to them often - but, as it turns out, talking is not one of them. Only as we engage in the hidden practice of listening do we learn about the struggles of others, gaining empathy where we once cast judgment.” MIC DROP. 😱 As a very opinionated individual (classsssic ENTJ and enneagram 3 - 😬💁🏼♀️) I’m in the very refining process of what it looks like to be open to reason & listen well, which is on of the biggest reasons why I started my podcast. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to bring the world in on my adventure. ;) I’m also a wedding photographer (holllaaa at my sweet couples I get to share my year with 🖤) & have a huge passion for people who are incarcerated. My heart is pulled in a million different directions, and I love it that way. Thanks for hanging in my little corner of the world, friends!
I’m not one to post a lot of black and white photos (give me all the happy color!!) but maaaan there’s just something about them sometimes. ❤️ Doing something fun & sharing favorite black and white photos from this beautiful day in the stories!!
YOU GUYS! Not only is this dear friend of mine sharing so much of her heart about racial harmony & reconciliation on the podcast today, she also give birth to the sweetest little guy literally two days ago. The BEST. ❤️ I was so inspired & challenged by our conversation and I know y’all will be too. Swipe to listen to a snippet of our chat ✨ (better yet, go listen to the full episode at the link in bio) 😉
Someday I’ll stop dying over this wedding but it might not be anytime soon 😉❤️
