  • Among Equals (@amongequals) is an ethical fashion company and social enterprise, aimed at empowering women Bilum weavers in Papua New Guinea. Each Bilum bag is lovingly made by hand using traditional techniques that have been handed down through the generations. These bags are so much more than a place to put your things, they are wearable art that tells a story. #NGVdesignstore • Since the filming of this video Among Equals has become a not-for-profit organisation.

  • Porso ball is an innovative necklace design using reclaimed nylon webbing created by Wasi Tardent, a senior weaver born on Erub in the Torres Strait.   • Spacecraft Studio (@spacecraft_store) and Kaiela Arts (@kaielaarts) are working together to introduce emerging Indigenous artists to screen printing technologies and professional art practices. Their new concept ‘Campfire’ connects artists and experts through campfire events held on the banks of Kaiela (Father River). Trees supplying the wood for the campfires are carefully chosen and pigments created from the residual charcoal are later used to create the finished artworks seen in this video. These unique works of art are available at #NGVdesignstore in celebration of #NAIDOCWeek.

This collection of beading by Reteah Tapim, Edith Gesa and Sally Mabo features necklaces which represent a distinctly Meriam style of jewellery-making: combining precious shells from the shores of Mer with local seeds and small glass beads. #NGVdesignstore
