Hey y’all! I know we’ve been quiet over here. Between trying to understand and comply with restrictions, executing our rescheduled event plans and meeting newly engaged and excited couples - whew! The Co. has been busy. We love every moment of working with our clients and advocating for them. Gathering all the details, scouting all the locations and vetting all the vendors takes time and skill. I’m often asked how many hours does it take to plan a wedding? Pre-C19 our answer always was at least 40 hours a week. Post-C19 that number is much closer to 60 hours a week...for one wedding. All my planner friends, am I right? Hiring a planner is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity. Our job is to help couples plan their wedding so they can maintain their lifestyle without compromising their quality of life. You deserve to live your best life! If you haven’t hired a planner, do it!! If you think we’d be a good fit hey girl hey! If not, I know many amazing planners and I’d be happy to refer you. Today is our birthday. I started this business eight years ago out of necessity. As a Black owned business, we live and breathe diversity. I hope you’ll stick with me here, I know this is a wedding business and you came for the pretty pictures. But it’s important that you know the heart behind this business. I started this business because while planning my own wedding, I realized that no one - not one vendor, venue owner, wedding creative, bride in the magazine looked like me. I knew Black and minority people were getting married, I just couldn’t find where they were represented in the wedding industry. I made the decision then to start my business to showcase diversity, to show love - in all forms. It’s still our mission, way before a hashtag. As I look around, I’m still so frustrated. Not because I don’t see the diversity - it’s there. It’s just not being given the same platform... even after the hashtag. But like eight years ago I’m not going to allow that to stop me from having a business that serves and showcases love, Black love, interracial love, plus size love. LOVE.
