Scarlett Contracting were engaged directly by HQ Hospitality Group to complete the electrical scope for 'Melbourne's longest bar', The Arbory Bar & Eatery. Located in the space previously occupied by the terminus of the old Sandridge railway line which was decommissioned in 1987, the bar and eatery stretches 150m down the south side of the Flinders Street Station and was inspired by New York's Highline and designed by renowned Melbourne Architects Jackson Clements Burrows and Associates. The scope of works performed included the design, construct and installation electrical infrastructure and lighting in order to meet the requirements of the establishment, which had a licence for 800 patrons. This project had many challenges, including an unexpected upgrade of the high voltage supply running along the Sandridge high voltage line, changes in scope leading to an additional 200Amps to be sought form the Flinders Street Substation, and complex mains cable pulling runs of 150 meters over train tracks at 2am (after the last train). The challenges were overcome and the completed project is an outstanding example of use of one of Melbourne’s most picturesque sites and our team are very proud to have been associated with what we believe will become a must-visit place in Melbourne. Scarlett Contracting continue to provide ongoing maintenance and electrical upgrades to The Arbory Bar & Eatery on a regular basis.
