I don't know if you follow my personal account, but I've been sharing over there a little bit about my health journey. The one thing I'm learning that is having the biggest impact on me is consistency. The things that I'm doing every day like drinking a lot of water and exercising in the morning, and the things I'm doing weekly like meal prepping, are the things that are going to give me the best results long term. I'm creating healthy habits. This applies to our personal lives, relationships, and our businesses. It's better and more productive to make small changes consistently than to do big things every once in a while. Keep moving forward. Do the work. Make it part of your routine and you'll find that success just happens.
Happy 15th Birthday Ainslee Charis! I can't believe it's been 15 years since we brought our little glowworm home from the hospital. You have grown into such a fun, witty, sarcastic and energetic young lady and I just can't wait to see you continue to be you!
You are human. You cannot hustle your life away and expect to maintain healthy relationships and a healthy body. Heck, even God took a day of rest! Sometimes you need to take a nap. Sometimes you need to walk out of the office, leave your phone at home, and go for a walk. Sometimes you need to schedule a vacation right in the middle of busy season. I've been in that place of taking on ALL the work and then feeling so much anxiety because clients weren't getting galleries on time and I was never home. Please don't let yourself get to the place. Thankfully, I recognized it before a complete meltdown and we took off and went to Disney for a week! Yes, right in the middle of busy season. It was the last week of October. And you know what? It worked so well, we did the same thing the following year. And then last year, I took one of the girls to Florida with me in November. I've learned what works for me and I encourage you to do the same. Nobody ever died wishing they'd worked more, right?
Brides, trust your photographer when she pulls you out of your getting ready room for your dress photos! Michelle and her bridesmaids were so sweet on her wedding day, totally trusting my vision and advice when it came to all of the photos. For these, I pulled them all into the hallway leading to the sanctuary because of all the natural light. Photos in her getting ready space would have been okay, but not as beautiful and natural as the were in this location. Also, it's this pretty girl's birthday! Happy Birthday Michelle!! #illinoisweddingphotographer #illinoisbride #illinoiswedding #kshoufbride #danvillewedding #midwestwedding #gettingready #bride #showiteer #tilinsider #kjbusinessjourney
Name that movie! I love this movie so much. It's one we watch over and over with the kids. I'm reading the book 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins, and it reminded me of this quote from the movie. Sometimes we just have to stop thinking and just take a giant leap! What is one thing you would if you would just stop overthinking it??? Comment below!
Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you feel deeply loved today by the people around you. Did you get a Valentine's Day gift? If so, let us know in the comments what you got! I'm dreaming of chocolate covered strawberries and a hot bubble bath with my favorite Lush bubble bar. #mountainengagement #southcarolina #baldrockengagement #travelwedding #travelweddingphotographer #southcarolinaweddingphotographer #scwedding #scengagement #baldrock
As we approach Valentine's Day, I hope that if you feel lonely or unloved that you would know you ARE deeply and perfectly loved by the ONE!
These two just celebrated their birthdays, so here's a little Happy Birthday post to these newlyweds! Happy birthday Tyra & Nemo! I hope your birthdays were filled with love and joy! This is how I want to live my life. I want people to see Jesus in me by how I live and love others, by the joy that radiates from me and by example I give to my children and those around me. The biggest compliment I ever heard, and one that brought me to tears, was at a wedding last year. I sat down to dinner at the vendor table with a very sweet and talented husband/wife videographer team, The Alcantaras. (Check them out, they are amazing!! @wearethealcantaras We started chatting and I mentioned that my husband had been in ministry and leads worship at our church. Arielle (the pretty half of the husband/wife team, haha) said something like, I KNEW you had Jesus in you! I could just tell by the joy you expressed all day. I love that. I love that she wasn't seeing ME, because I'm flawed and broken. She saw Jesus! How are you loving others today?
