  • Today is always a day of remembrance for many Americans. Where were you? How old were you? Do you feel like it has effected the course of history in America? Did you make American Flag safety pin beaded charms?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I lived in Washington DC, I was in 4th grade and we started school at 9am. I remember waiting for the morning announcements and the teacher turned on her small tv and received a phone call and before we knew it, we were shuffled to the gymnasium to wait for our families to come get us. I remember sharing a package of sour skittles with a kindergartner next to me and then sitting in traffic with my mom (who was very panicky) for 4 hours on our MAYBE two minute drive home on a normal day. My dad was supposed to be working in the Pentagon on 9/11 but most meetings were called off the morning of. I have a diary from when I was this age and I wrote and entry immediately when I learned what had happened on the news and it’s a very cute and scary entry at the same time. The fact I remember so many small details always baffles me. Everyone I’ve ever met knows exactly where they were. Never Forget.
