Testing variations on a new recipe—it’s a multigrain sourdough I’m calling “Zesty Cranberry” but that doesn’t adequately describe it— loaded with sweet cranberries, aromatic lime (lots of finely minced peel, the winning recipe also has some of the fruit), plus rich and nutty toasted black sesame. Coming out of the oven it smells amazing, somewhere between the most deeply golden toasted wheat and key lime pie. A peek inside my process lately — Getting back to the tactile experience of list-making after years of digital sticky notes on my laptop screen. I’m still making those too, but sitting with my thoughts, doodling as I let the priorities bubble up to the surface, is so much more nourishing to my soul. Sometimes an item gets carried over to the next list, and the next, it that’s okay. Priorities shift. Deadlines are extended. Life intervenes.
