#fridayintroductions are always some of my favorite posts to read each week - so here's one from us! Hi! We're Conor and Jessica, owners of Two Rivers Ranch LLC on the Western Slope of Colorado. Next week will be our 4th wedding anniversary, and our baby will be turning 4 months old! On the ranch we grow blue spruce trees, alfalfa, cut flowers, and raise cattle. We also have 2 emu, 5 horses, 2 mammoth jack mules, chickens, dogs, and lots of kitties! We've been a little MIA for a few days. We've been pretty busy kicking it into high gear getting ready for hay season and enjoying all the snuggles with sweet baby Flynn. 🥰 We had out first harvest of cucumbers... Papa Bear picked out a new (to us) side-by-side (essentially a 4-wheel drive golfcart) with doors and bucket seats so Junior and I can tag along for evening irrigation checks! Like a lot of places, it's been hitting 100° in the afternoons all week. If you could share one thing with your past self to help you through those hard times, what would it be? . Thinking back to when times were hard and I didn't know what the future would look like, I think I'd show myself this picture. I'd tell myself about this moment where I'm making dinner (way past dinner time, but that's how summer goes on the ranch) while this incredible husband and father reads our perfect baby a bedtime story. I'd tell myself how much I love being a mom. I'd admit that I cropped out the mess on the coffee table and edited the lighting to disguise the pile of laundry on the couch, because no, I still haven't turned into the neat freak I've always thought I'd be when I finally grew up. I'd admit that this was actually the 6th bedtime book we had read that night because the baby doesn't like staying asleep in the evenings (we're pretty sure he's got a bad case of fomo 😉). This year's lilac season was pretty spectacular! Finally! The past few years the bushes really haven't done well and I was fearing the worst. This week has been above 90° during the day and the evenings are staying hot, so the blooms have dried up but the smell is still lingering in the evenings! If your lilacs aren't blooming well, make sure they're getting a lot of water. I mean a lot!! Sweet baby Flynn is so excited to show you how much he has grown in the past 3 months!
