  • Today was a good day! Started at 4am chasing birds around 1000 acres of public with my boy @finalpiecesportfishing calling in 5 birds but not close enough to cut heads with the Bow. After splitting up and ditching the camera gear on a run and kill mission I got on a nice bird and let me tell you the @victory_archery Magnus bullhead broadheads do the trick! It’s like putting a .308 through a turkeys neck! It’s been a few years since I’ve been in the woods alone from guiding turkeys and man did it feel good! I shot this bird at 18 yards and he did 2 flops and that was the end! This bird responded instantly on a blind call. I ran up the ridge, set a hen decoy and slid behind an old oak tree. He came in hot spitting and drumming, stood on top a stone wall at 25 yards hammering! After ten minutes he jumped off the wall and bedded down to take a nap. Something I’ve never seen a Tom do in my life! After a few minutes of disbelief I went to full draw putting a tree between me and the bedded bird and snuck towards him scraping leaves and purring as if i was a hen. When i was within range i stepped out into the open as he stood up and i released the arrow cutting his head like a high caliber ballistic tip! That was the end. I didn’t get it on footage but to me the time in the woods alone was worth it! I had a saddle set of stepps still in a tree from a few seasons ago 20 yards away that made the perfect phot Op!
