The weekend is here! We’ve been waiting all week to be together again! We are PUMPED to hear from Pastor @joshhanvey tomorrow for week 3 of our ‘Relationship Goals’ series. See you soon fam!
“There are things God wants to give us before we go into relationship: 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 - don’t escape the place God called you to be. 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 - if you embrace the place you embrace WHY God placed you there. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - God only funds His ideas. 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 - if we are defined by anything else but God, we are confused as to who we are suppose to be. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 - standards are important to have. We are all broken people, but when we are filled to the brim with God then lies don’t have a place inside us. We have to allow Him to fill the areas that we have allowed others to fill. If we get this now, what will our future and relationships look like?” Thank you, Pastor @matshutt, for giving us this practical and very real truth. Tune into our podcast if you missed it!
We are the second week in on our ‘Relationship Goals’ series and we have Pastor @matshutt bringing it tomorrow. Be sure to grab and friend and we will see you soon!
“Fred and I have always known that Father God brought us together. However, we also frequently recognize that we are the most polar-opposites ever! Here we were, self-centered individuals with hearts desiring to serve Jesus, work in his kingdom, surrender all but seriously lacking discipline direction and daily application of the “deep truths in God”. Yet through our fumbling, this singular truth was imbedded in our hearts; we were nothing without Jesus, we needed HIM. Fred and I learned to repent, to ask for and release forgiveness, to obey the Holy Spirit’s nudges quickly. We chose to love, to remain faithful, to be examples to our children and grand-children. Our struggles, sometimes all out war scrimmages, alongside our love for God and each other, are usually very evident and demonstrative. Through it ALL, we’ve learned to trust in Jesus, we’ve learned to trust in God. The following quote Fred found clarifies the success of our 39 year old relationship: “The couples that are ‘meant to be’ are the ones that go through everything that is meant to tear them apart and come out stronger than they were before”” - Fred and Nell Owen, 39 years married. Make sure to check out our current series ‘Relationship Goals’ on our podcast. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE!
