• I can’t believe I am actually showing this in a mid-production stage, because I still have to spraypaint and finish the frame. πŸ˜… But look at this new, big 75CM eye I made, isn't it cool? πŸ‘β£
And is it ok to be a little excited? 😁

  • Life is full of little wonders hiding in the details. I think it's one of the inherent joys of living your life as an artist, because as you are always "on the hunt" for them, it makes it harder for you to miss these magic moments. ✨⁣
⁣
Artist or not, I challenge you to pay extra attention to your surrounding today once you put your phone away. May it be outside, on the way to/off from work or just in your cozy home staring out of the window! πŸ₯°β£
⁣
I'll guarantee that you see something that makes you smile, even just a little! πŸ™ƒ

  • This one kinda reminds me of wood/tree rings, which has always been a concept that fascinated me. 🀣 ⁣
⁣
You can actually tell a lot by the size and shape of a ring, e.g. if the tree was healthy or had illnesses, if he was in the shade of other trees or if he had perfect condition and/or nutrition to grow quickly. 🌲⁣
⁣
In macro perspective, it’s like a visual representation of his life and history, similar to the digital footprint we leave in the internet today. 🌐⁣
⁣
What would our rings tell the world? Have you been healthy or did something make you ill? Did you put yourself in the shade of others, or did you grow to your majesty?✨

  • Quick #tbt to this 2018 series called 'Blasphemy' ✨⁣
⁣
It is a combination of my acrylic pouring techniques with old, traditional works that I usually get from flea markets. πŸ’Έβ£β£β£
⁣
My impression is that for many people, maybe even some of the unknowing sellers, this is still an absolute 'no-go'. ⁣
⁣
Why?⁣
⁣
Traditional art, such as landscape paintings, are usually put on a higher level than anything that falls under the category of contemporary art.πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨β£β£β£
⁣
There's this notion that these painters were masters of their craft who took years to perfect their skills and weeks to finish a painting, while we young artists just make a bunch of stuff without having to work for it. πŸ™…β£β£β£
⁣
So they judge.⁣
⁣
In their eyes, it's almost as if I am devaluating the piece through my artistic work 🀦🏼⁣⁣
⁣
But ⁣I don't see it that way. I am bringing an artwork back to 'relevance' that otherwise would collect dust in someone's basement. ⁣
⁣
I am combining and honoring a past art decade by putting it into a new dress and showing its versatility and relevance to a younger audience.✨⁣⁣⁣
⁣
Don't let the stubbornness of others hold you back in your creativity and artistic vision!
