BEST DAY EVER STATUS!! 🌈🎉💖🦄 When we moved in July, I asked the girls what they wanted their new room to look like. Took all of 10 seconds for a rainbow room to be decided upon and they stuck to it these past 3.5 months. . I hemmed and hawed over how to make a rainbow wall happen and then the PERFECT solution came across my social feed: @emilyley partnered with @musewallstudio to create this stunning rainbow Happy Stripe paper and that was it!!! 🌈 . I didn’t tell the girls what I ordered and secretly have been picking up little details over the past few weeks to bring the whole look together for a BIG surprise room makeover. It is the most magical room EVER! . Is it natural to be jealous of your kids’ room design? Because I am 😂 Swipe to see all the magical rainbow details and their reveal reaction! 🎉👉💖 #simplifed #musewallstudio #emilyley #framebridge #makehomeyours #fifthhomebliss #givemeallthecolor🌈
So I hear today is National Boss Day. I’m my own boss. No one else. Fitting day to have shared what I talk about in my stories. (Struggles of an Enneagram 7 trying to find her way in business) . Truthfully? I don’t feel like I fit in the land of “boss.” I definitely don’t fit the mold of the “entrepreneur.” . In response to my story, my sweet friend @laurafoote said if I would have been tested I’d have probably been in the gifted class as a child. And I legitimately shed a tear in the middle of a Tuesday Morning store. I’ve never ever thought of myself that way. I’ve always felt like I struggle to keep up. To fit in the box. To be a certain kind of person for a certain kind of expectation. To hear something like that just flipped a switch from a mindset of how I don’t fit to a feeling of freedom. . Another encouraging note from @annadkornick reminded me that success looks different for everyone and that I still have walls of self-limiting beliefs that need to be torn down. . All this to say, that being your own boss, especially if you don’t feel like you fit the mold, is not easy. In these squares, you see lots of us boss ladies with shining smiles and put together words that seem just right. But goodness I wish there was a way to really show the behind the scenes. The mental gymnastics of it all. . I’ve got a lot of growing to do. Even almost 9 years in. It’s hard yes, but there is JOY here. The people I get to connect with. The people I get to serve. It is all a gift. A gift in growing and a gift in serving. . Here’s to the bosses who are still figuring it all out. And to the people in our lives (and in these squares!) who don’t let us go at it alone. . Happy Boss Day Y’all 💗

People often ask me “What’s one thing you’ve done that has led to your success?” . My immediate reaction? Picking one thing isn’t realistic. So many lessons learned and changes made have helped me take step by baby step to where I am today. . But one big thing that comes to mind is this: 👉 Learn to innovate. When trends shift, when imitators come, and when plans don’t go perfectly, don’t give up. Don’t spend your precious time staying frustrated or fighting change. . Change is inevitable. In fact it’s the only thing I CAN count on. 😉 So learn to innovate. Keep your eyes and your work one step (or more!) ahead. Don’t look to what competitors are doing on your right and left for what to do now or next. Look forward. That’s the only direction where true unique work happens and impact is made. 💗🌈
Today is brought to you by college football, never ending snacks, a little bit of sibling bickering, a lot of silly playing, one tired Mama, and pizza delivery. It’s all good 💖🌈
