  • Let’s talk grooms today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The groom’s “getting ready” typically looks very different than the bride’s room! 9 times out of 10 I walk in to a room of half dressed guys just hanging out and watching tv. The atmosphere is fairly relaxed and it’s always a lot of fun! I threw together some tips for the guys to make sure their detail and getting ready photos also shine!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Think about the grooms details ahead of time that are special and that you’d want photos of. Here are some that often come up: bow tie/ tie, cuff links, suit jacket, shoes, fun socks, boutonnières, watches, suspenders, anything engraved like flasks or gifts, groomsmen gifts, letters/gifts from your bride to be, rings (if they aren’t with the girls), and any other detail that has meaning to you!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. It’s greatly appreciated if the guys can tidy up any clutter, glasses, or other items before the photographer arrives so that the photos look crisp, clean, and clutter free. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. If you are having bow ties, fun fact- I am now a pro bow-tier haha. I have helped many a groom or groomsman with their tie or bow tie. But it’s always good to have the guys practice ahead of time if they aren’t familiar with how to do it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. “Cheers” photos are frequently requested and they make for a fun photo. Having matching glasses or bottles is always a plus to tie the photo together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Letters from your bride- it’s always a sweet moment when the groom reads a letter from his bride. I love photographing that special moment, so just give your guy a heads up to wait until we get there to read it :)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Celebrating that Charlie’s MRI results came back normal!!! We are clearly more excited than he is haha. It has been a roller coaster of a week. Next step, genetic testing. Staying positive for our little man! ❤️ check out the confetti outtakes in my stories 😂😂

  • Today my little man, Charlie, has his MRI. Charlie was diagnosed with microcephaly at 6 months. He is such a happy, sweet kid, and we are so grateful that he seems to be making progress each day and doing well. We are nervous about what the results will tell us, but are hoping for the best. He will have to be sedated for the procedure, which scares me (my family is all highly allergic to inhaled anesthesia, so we are on high alert). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you could send him any good vibes, prayers, or happy thoughts, we all would appreciate it 💕 Love you, peanut.

  • Who’s having their wedding by the beach?? The beach is one of my favorite places to shoot, and the great news is that there are so many amazing beaches in NJ! Here are some things to think about when you’re planning your beach wedding!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Will your ceremony be on the beach? On a pier/ boardwalk? If it’s on the beach, make sure extra steps are taken to ensure the chairs and other decor will be secure. It can be tough with the sand, but makes for gorgeous photos. Piers allow for easier access/walking during the ceremony, so they are great if you have guests who may need some extra assistance walking. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Time of day is super important! Most beaches have little shade. If you plan for a ceremony between 1-3pm, the harsh sun may cause some shadows. If possible, a later ceremony will allow for dreamier light!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Wind- it’s inevitable by the beach! Just bring some extra clips to hold back the brides and bridesmaids hair, as well as any flowy decor ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Shoes- if you’d like portraits on the beach, consider bringing along flip flops or a pair of flats for walking around the beach in between photo spots. It can be tough in heels! Barefoot is always a possibility, but in case the sand is hot it’s nice to have a backup plan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Looking for sunsets over the beach? In Jersey it’s not impossible! There are plenty of beaches with inlets or bay sides (think LBI, Hazlet, or Cape May). We can totally get those sunsets over the water that you’ve been dreaming about!
