SELF CARE... Finally got myself out of the house and away from work (well, almost) and headed to the beach for my first walk in weeks. The last couple of months have been intense. Navigating some changes at home, while also rapidly growing my team. And in the last week, single parenting and managing a few growing pains in the business. And while I’m getting there, slowly but surely, I have neglected myself in the process and I feel it!! I’m exhausted, burnt out, and drained (but still smiling and managing to have a laugh about)! What I realised, though, that while my default for managing stress is to work harder (and try to fix stuff), sometimes I need to slow down and just drop in. I need to take care of myself and fill my cup first so I can be there for everyone else. And I need to keep my energy field strong so I radiate out strength to those around me. So today, I’m giving myself permission to put me first and feel into what feels most joyful. What’s one commitment you can make today to put yourself first and fill your cup?
Have you ever considered that your business is a living entity with a soul of its own? It’s tempting to view our business as an extension of us (especially for a coach or healer with a personal brand). However, I view it as more like a child that’s been birthed through you, and needs your care and nurturing in order to thrive. That child is not you. It may have many of your characteristics, but it also has its own personality and life direction, separate to yours. And there are some times in our business when we need to just get out of the way as a person, a business owner, a leader (a “parent”) and just let it flow. That’s a major part of the essence of being an intuitive entrepreneur. Trusting and allowing, rather than forcing. But, that’s not always easy to do. Cue your spiritual support team. My guest on this week’s podcast introduced me to the neat concept of a “spiritual advisory board”. Just like in big business, where there are people who sit on the Board, with different expertise and knowledge, as intuitive entrepreneurs we can access our spiritual advisory board. This is incredibly handy when we’re stuck in our analytical mind and having trouble making decisions or seeing a clear path. My guest, Helen Jacobs (@helenjacobs.co), is the author of You Already Know, and host of The Guided Collective Podcast. After a successful career in PR and marketing, Helen left to pursue her own intuitive nudges and forged a flourishing practice as a psychic. In this episode, Helen shares the amazing practice she’s developed to converse with her spiritual support team, and how it has impacted her life and business. Even better, she shares how you can meet your own spiritual support team, and the many ways they can help you in your life and business. We also chat about: - Transitioning from a corporate day job to providing intuitive services - How to balance the masculine and feminine to come back to center in your business - How you are the pioneer for a massive pivot point in how the world does business - How to hear the guidance from your spiritual support team Tune in today >> brigit.me/podcast/019
Your intuition is like the wise old friend who knows so much. But instead of loudly proclaiming everything she knows, she just gently nudges and guides you along, so that you find your own path.
The sky's the limit. 😉 Cheeseball quotes aside, this is one of my favourite views in the world (and one of the things I love about travel). It brings such an expansive perspective, and reminds me that there are untold heights still available for us to reach. What are you aiming for this week?
Developing business skills is not always on the “fun” list for highly creative folks. As much as I believe that entrepreneurship is the epitome of creativity, there are many creatives who prefer to be free to create their art than get caught up in the business end of things. It’s a highly personal choice, how much time you dedicate to the operations and strategy of your business, versus the creation of products, courses and offerings. Which is why I needed to have the incredible Leonie Dawson (@leonie_dawson) on The Intuitive Entrepreneur Podcast, so we could hear from the creative genius herself how she navigated the world of business as someone who is 100% dedicated to her creativity. Leonie is the #1 bestselling author of the My Shining Year goals workbooks. She’s a serial entrepreneur who has created over $10m in revenue while only working 10 hours a week. Leonie has been a finalist for myBusiness Business Woman of the Year and Ausmumpreneur of the Year. She has been location independent since 2010 and has lived in some of the most beautiful parts of Australia. Leonie is an artist, creative and hippy, mother to two daughters and wife to a Scorpio god. Leonie is a bundle of fun, and seriously impresses me with the love and respect she shows her clients and students, as well as how 100% authentic and aligned she is in everything she does. In this fun, wide-ranging conversation, we chat about: - Why the world needs more soulful women to make good money - The importance of developing business skills as a creative - How to be a good custodian for wealth - How to integrate creativity and fun into your business - The dark side of a creative business and how to navigate it - How a conscious choice and committed action lead Leonie to over $10 million in revenue - How to end an offer or program with grace, integrity and respect - The beautiful spiritual journey of stepping into your biggest, truest self Saddle up for this one, the energy is big and the inspiration flowing! Loving these Virgo new moon vibes. I always set aside sacred time at the new moon to set my intentions (for myself and my business). The Virgo new moon heightens the energies around how we serve in the world, our rituals and routines, and our health and healing. I put together a Tarot spread for the @biddytarot community that I thought you may enjoy - you can apply it to yourself personally, or even do the spread from the perspective of your business! If you're not a Tarot lover, you could use your favourite oracle cards, or even journal your own intuitive insights into each of these questions: 1. What needs my focus and attention right now? 2. How can I improve my career/business? 3. How can I improve my health? 4. How can I best serve at this time? 5. How can I bring a greater sense of order to my life/business? 6. What is my highest intention for my self-mastery? I'd love to hear your insights from this exercise, and any special new moon rituals you love to do!
No matter where you are on your entrepreneurial journey, you’re going to experience blocks that get in your way. I hate to break it to you, but business isn’t just a smooth ride to everlasting happiness. These blocks are always present, they just change in scope and magnitude depending where you are on the business journey. Oh, great Brigit, you might be thinking... what’s the point if it’s always hard and I’m always going to come up against blocks? Here’s the thing. Entrepreneurship is one of the best personal development courses you’ll ever take. The secret sauce is in how you perceive these blocks, and what you then do with them. Entrepreneurs who come up against a barrier and give up, or can’t find a way to overcome the block, will likely fail. But those who view these blocks as challenges, ultimately manage to turn them into opportunities. Working to overcome challenges requires a new level of creativity, strategic thinking, flexibility and resolve. It gets you looking at things in your business differently, and doing things differently as an entrepreneur. Breaking through these blocks whenever they present themselves, is what takes you and your business to the next level. In this week’s episode of the Intuitive Entrepreneur Podcast, I’m taking you through what the 4 biggest blocks are, how they limit your potential, and how to overcome them so you can build a business that enriches your soul and your life. Tune into IEP017: How to Break Through the 4 Biggest Blocks That All Intuitive Entrepreneurs Face for some potent tips that will expand you and your business. >> brigit.me/podcast/017
