Since Storm Ciara made an appearance I’ve realised how bad the (lovely sash) windows are at retaining any heat!! New windows were our priority but now we’re desperately searching for a solution!   • When parenting goes wrong. My girls are learning all about #mentalhealthawareness this week and I’m so proud of them ‘finding their brave’. 🥰 So much great stuff going on at school too to support this but yesterday I discovered a sweet under their pillow that they’d sneaked upstairs. Instead of thinking it was funny/ cheeky/ maybe then ‘finding their brave’ I just got mum rage. Lots of shouting and anger and one of the twins ended up laughing in my face and the other just continued to push the boundaries and do the opposite of what we said. She had most of her toys, fav things confiscated and still didn’t care. My question is what do you do, where do you go when shouting and dealing out all the parenting cards still doesn’t work? When your patience is tested to the limit and you have nowhere else to turn. 😫 (And you’re trying not to drink on a school night! 🍷) Moving house and schools has been hard on everyone and I do need to give these little people a break sometimes. Step back and realise they’re just been children. I also need to be kinder on myself. I’ve not done a bad job all things considered. Some days having three children is a total joy, other days it’s so hard I wonder where I’ve gone wrong? - Also on another note, took this picture yesterday as the sun was shining and felt like spring was in the air & it was minutes before the stolen sweet incident! #storyofmyhome - ‘Golden moments’.   • Well what a few weeks we’ve had. We moved into our new house on the 6th Jan but on the 5th Jan I got a virus that crept into my bones and knocked me sideways. Safe to say we are still surrounded by boxes and the house is still pretty chaotic. To top all that off the girls got bloody nits which they passed on to me!!! So we’ve been Nitty Gittying to the max and comb comb combing those bad boys out of here! 🐜 However, we are starting to see the light. ✨ I can taste things again, I’m not using half a box of tissues a day for the snot fest and the boxes are slowly getting unboxed! I’ve started to actually look at the house properly and see what needs doing (a lot) and where I can make small wins before we really get our sleeves rolled up on the renovations. This room is painted in a colour I would never had used but it’s grown on me loads. I do love the warm colours atm anyway, especially @farrowandball #redearth so I’m embracing this room and all it’s cosy vibes. Also we’re watching the light like a hawk to see where it comes in (we’re so bloody grown up now!) and this room certainly has it in abundance. ☀️ Happy Tuesday folks.   • We’re in. That’s a massive achievement in itself. Against all the odds. A Christmas that was amazingly special but SO busy and then packing up our entire life and relocating it to Yorkshire has been overwhelming, exciting but so exhausting. We’re all a little jaded but very happy in our new home. Inside is full of boxes and I’ve no idea where anything is. It took me 30 mins to locate my laptop this morning and then another 10 to find the charger. I had to dry my hair last night with a @dysonfan & don’t get me started on where all my pants are!! 😂🤪 However, we are incredibly lucky to have moved to beautiful Ilkley in Yorkshire & to a house that will both be a money pit and a great family home in equal measure! Literally we all have no idea what to do with all the space and the cat is completely baffled by the whole thing! 🐱 So before I pick up any paintbrushes and start changing things I’m putting the kettle on and taking a deep breath of Yorkshire air.
