• Six years ago, we first met our Golden Girl. She is sunshine and light. She is pure joy and passion. She is a wild adventurer and all heart. And in the words of her Daddy, “She’s just like her mama. Sweet as sugar, but with a fire that can burn your house down.” 🤣 I wouldn’t have you any other way, baby girl. Happy birthday, my Rosie. #rosiemills

  • Our flip (in Greenville SC) is officially on the market! This has been such a fun project for us. We’ve always dreamed about taking our flipping passions beyond our own homes and standing in front of this sign yesterday felt pretty surreal! The listing is linked in my stories - so y’all check it out! And swipe to see an exterior before and after 🙌🏻 #whitebuffalohomes

  • On my second cup and probably won’t stop there... didn’t sleep much last night as some heaviness of this season crept in. Covid, man. Christmas is so different for us this year, as I know it is for many. And as hard as it is to miss loved ones and struggle through other things going on in the world right now, I’m determined to find some JOY. Trying to remind myself this morning that this is what we’re celebrating...the lights and gifts and hot cocoa is so fun. But the heaviness, the knowledge that things aren’t what they should be, is a good reminder that this is why Christmas exists...this is what He came for. To restore all things and make all things new. Wishing you all hope this week, friends. No matter how dark the night may seem, the light comes.

  • One of the things I’m most passionate about in homemaking is creating a little beauty everyday. Lighting a candle, brewing a pot of tea, using the special dishes. This Christmas week, that seems to be on overdrive and I love it. But often, it’s one simple thing added in that makes all the difference.
✨
But I must say that creating beauty in your home does not mean perfection. In fact, to me, it’s the opposite. While I do love a clean and organized home, ours is rarely that. Like this morning, our morning time felt just filled and overflowing with beauty and light and love. And yet, the other end of the table was piled with laundry to be put away (hey it’s folded...SUCCESS), and a stack of pictures waiting to be hung on these new walls. And it didn’t take away one single bit from the beauty we all felt this morning as we gathered, ate, sipped, and read.
✨
For me, I think the magic often comes in the juxtaposition. Perfection is lacking life and to me, what is more beautiful than a life being lived to the fullest? But bringing beauty into the everyday, lighting a candle and lingering around the table despite the piled laundry, now that’s where the real stuff lies. And on the days where we’re surviving and I’m running from one mess to another, the frustration creeps in and even the simple act of lighting that candle feels too daunting, I pray that I remember those messes are made by very loved and prayed for little hands often elbow deep in creativity. And that in itself, is one of the most beauty-filled things of all.

  • Spent this winter solstice leading into tonight’s Christmas star rolling soooo many candles. The perfect reminder today that “The light shines in the darkness. And the darkness can never extinguish it.” Today, as we rolled and molded these honey-smelling sheets, I talked to them about tonight’s Christmas star, the Christmas story it was a part of, and Jesus being the light of the world. I talked about how we get to be light in a dark world by letting Jesus shine through us. As you may imagine, my 3 and 5 year old were super engaged in this 🙄 Yep, they got every word. 🤣 But as it always happens, the words I planned for them, settled deep and heavy in my heart. And as I talked to them while their little hands rolled, I realized that God hadn’t given me that word for them, but rather was giving me the reminder my soul so desperately needed. The light came and will forever burn bright. The darkness can never put it out. And we get the gift of walking down the path of this life, stumbling, falling, and turning the wrong way at times, but also being willing vessels and shining the most brilliant light that isn’t ours. 🕯

  • Walking around the house tonight and taking in all the sparkling, twinkling, candlelit magic. There is nothing like a quiet house on Christmas nights. Five more sleeps! 🕯✨🎄

  • Our Christmas decorations have gotten simpler with each passing year and somehow, I love them more and more. It’s amazing how much magic the glow of oranges, candles, and greenery adds to our home this time of year. 🍊 🕯 🎄
