#SPONSORED A new survey conducted by @safeproduce found that 95% of registered dietitians agree that it is important for consumers to know that conventionally grown produce is safe because not all consumers can afford organic produce ... In addition, the survey found that 94% of registered dietitians agree that inaccurate, fear-based messaging regarding pesticide residues has a negative impact on consumers as it causes misplaced concern about whether conventionally-grown fruits and vegetables are safe to eat. 🍓🍇🍉🥝🍅🍆🥬🥦 ... 93% of the surveyed registered dietitians also agreed that consumers should eat more fruits and vegetables every day, whether it’s organic or conventionally grown. Both are safe and can be eaten with confidence.🍋🍊🍏🍐🥒🌶 ... A neat tool developed by The Alliance For Food and Farming is this residue calculator which helps put things into perspective (link in bio) ... I am proud to be part of the panel of registered dietitians along with @sklingerrd @manuel.villacorta @delishknowledge and @shawsimpleswaps where we will help provide input on needed next steps to help minimize fear and increase consumption of fruits and veggies! Does categorizing people BMI as “overweight” or “obese” perpetuate weight stigma in our society? My latest from @foodnetwork discusses weight labeling and if those categorized as “overweight” and “obese” can be healthy. Thanks @streetsmart.rd and @alissarumseyrd for weighing in! What a wonderful night in Budapest surrounded by nutrition conversation with my fellow RD friends. Of course the night was filled with delicious food from Budapest too ... #foodfluence #sponsoredevent #budapest #dinner #nutrition #hungary #hungryinhungary
Beautiful tour of the Dohány synagogue in the Jewish area in Budapest and a walk through the history of the holocaust and the Jewish ghetto. Although my family isn’t from Budapest, they are from Romania, Czechoslovakia, Russia and Poland and many of the stories told about Budapest Jews were reminiscent of stories many of my own surviving family members told me about the holocaust. Afterwards a quick walk to @koleves_vendeglo where I enjoyed Jewish European foods like matzo ball soup in goose broth, cholent, duck leg confit with cabbage and semi-mashed potatoes and matzoh flodni (dessert made with ground walnuts, apples and poppyseed) #sponsoredevent #budapest #hungarianjews #synagogue #jewishfood #cholent
Enjoying Beef-shi (that’s beef sushi!) for lunch today with a little hot dog and other beef-based meats and it was delicious. #sponsoredevent
