When you go into my moms house, the first thing you notice in her kitchen is her white double door fridge. It’s not her fridge that catches your eye, but what she has displayed on it. Up, down, and all around you’ll see colorful memories of her loved ones and magnets of places where she has been. She had our engagement photos, our first holiday cards as a family of three, and then more photos when we grew our family a couple years later. Holiday cards are the perfect reminder for your loved ones to share these special memories with you. When we did Kathy’s session, I was able to get a few photos before the rain came pouring down. But we managed to capture this family photo in which Kathy (who is seriously the sweetest human ever) said “It’s okay, as long as we have one photo for holiday cards, we can reschedule for when you’re back in Chicago next summer.” And I felt that. If you don’t have it in your budget to get professional photos done for holiday cards this season, check out my free eGuide (link in bio) with tips on how to take your own family photos at home 🥰

Meet Jessica. I met Jessica a few years ago during a networking event. We chatted about her story as a single mother and the obstacles she has overcome. It’s not my story to tell, so I asked if she could share her WHY of the importance of documenting memories with her and her daughter. Here’s a glimpse of Jessica’s WHY: “Tradition is hard to keep in a single parent household. It requires creativity, thinking ahead, being financially prepared, and keeping my child happy/entertained during that tradition! And being THE only responsible participan - all decisions fall on my shoulders. Looking back at the photos over the years brings me back to that stage of childhood and motherhood. I may not have enjoyed it in the moment, but I can appreciate the joy of it SO much more having survived or powered through it. And seeing how my daughter learned from that stage and became the most perfect human I know and love, in front of me today. I love my daughter so much, I would do a photo shoot each month if it was in my budget! I love seeing her grow and change every second!” Thank you, Jessica for allowing me to document this moment for you and sweet Amara 💕 Do you get professional family photos done with your little ones? If so, what’s your WHY?

For many of us, the Holidays won't be the same this year. Some of us will have an empty chair at the table saved for a loved one who passed from COVID, Others will be jobless trying to figure out how to get gifts for their children, Some parents will be disappointed they won't be able to take the kids to see Santa this year, And children who wish to look back on those memories won't have any. It's been a tough year for all of us. But one thing we've learned this year is that we are all in this together. Which is why I decided to offer "Virtual Visit With Santa" photo where 50% of the profits will be donated to Breakthrough Chicago and Toys for Tots. To put a little bit of cheer in someone's life. Purchasing your custom "Virtual Visit With Santa" photo is as easy as 1,2,3... 1. Visit link in bio 2. Purchase the Santa/Charity of your choice 3. Email me a mobile photo of your child(ren) excited at hi@linettegary.com And within 48 hours I will have a safe, memorable photo of Christmas 2020, "the year where we were quarantined". Thank you in advance for your support! xx, Linette

After what felt like the longest mission, we finally made it back home to San Diego. Home sweet home. Grateful, thankful, and blessed to have spent the last three months with our immediate family + Chicago clients documenting memories. Never in a million years did I expect this curveball to be thrown our way, but the resilience we have all embodied will make a great story for our future generation. While we're on that topic, don't forget to document this moment in history. Having a photo to share with your grandchildren or great grandchildren one day will make it easier to share YOUR families story. I created a free eGuide with tips to documenting your own family memories. Visit our link in bio to snag yours! Or if you're in San Diego, let us document these memories for you. Booking details can be found via our link in bio as well! Stay safe + blessed insta fam, xx Linette

I want my children to grow up in a world that will love them, That will respect their body, their race, and their rights. Don’t we all? But sadly, I know we are far from that world. Instead, we will focus on teaching our children to love themselves. To stand up for themselves. To stand up for what’s right. And not be afraid to speak up and make change happen. Take care of your mental health,...for them. Hold your babies tight and surround yourself around their innocence. The innocence that validates that there is Love in this world. So go love on those babies.
