“I suffered nightmares and depression after coming home. The time in EHVP’s intensive outpatient program was eye opening to me.” - Wounded warrior, Samantha H. Samantha spoke at the expansion of The Emory Healthcare Veterans Program Monday. A grant from WWP will double the number of warriors served at EHVP. Learn more at our link in bio.
Mental wellness comes in many forms. As part of their two-week intensive clinical program for the invisible wounds, our AMC partner @homebaseprogram offers Veterans and their family members an opportunity to participate in equine-assisted activities. During their time in Boston, Veterans and their family/support person spend two days on a ranch, where they come together to strengthen relationships and facilitate healing. For the first time, we let warriors vote on the gift they receive for completing the Annual Warrior Survey. The overwhelming majority voted for a tactical patch … and then we let them vote on the design. Here’s the final product! We are so excited to start sending these out to all of the 2019 Annual Warrior Survey participants.
Our friend Coco is proudly sporting her 2019 WWP warrior tactical patch! We created this PVC patch exclusively for warriors (and their dogs) who complete the 2019 Annual Warrior Survey. If you’re a warrior who registered in or before 2018, your survey invitation was sent to your email. Take 20 minutes to complete it, and we’ll send you this patch! 🐾
“Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate the women in our lives who gave us life, swaddled us, fed and clothed us, wiped our tears, potty-trained us, were our first playmates, planned birthday parties, celebrated holidays, took us to school, disciplined us and did their best to guide us to lead our best lives. For my “mama”, after more than three decades of vigilance, she silently approached a closed casket containing the remains of a grown man to whom she had given life. Now her steps are slower than those she had at the playground. Her hair is gray and her shoulders slightly stooped. Yet, she remains a proud and patriotic mother and like so many others she has suffered a grief beyond comprehension – a sadness that comes from the loss of a child.” – Cindy Campbell⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To help Chris’s family reach his goal, visit the link in bio or call 855-926-8997.

I assist, help, and support my son because of the love I have for him, and I know he would do the same for me without hesitation. His positive attitude and his million-dollar smile keep me going every day, and it doesn't hurt that he tells me 'I love you' and 'thank you' everyday. -- Caregiver, Christine Schei. 💙 #MonthOfTheMilitaryCaregiver
“Operation Mend picked me up at my lowest moment.” - Army Major (ret.) Yolanda Poullard. Yolanda struggled to adapt to civilian life with PTSD, until she enrolled in Warrior Care Network, at @operationmend intensive treatment program. Learn more at link in bio.
