• When Annalyse and I found this quote we were cracking up...

We have a few inside-joke titles for her -
My anger translator: I’ll be frustrated, she’ll help me de-sass it, AND turn that fire into a helpful mini training for the community.

The naming savant: We’ll swirl ‘round & ‘round Thesaurus.com and then she’ll pop up like, “What about just ‘The Goods’ 😎”

& our resident Doomsday Prepper: Me = idea! Her = Yes and whataboutthese60thingsweshouldthinkabout

We all have our strengths 😂

In business you simply never know what kind of situation will fly out of left field. Here some easy ways that we stop problems before they begin:

• Look at everything from a client's perspective. Are directions clear or are they too wordy? Are you asking too much of a beginner, or not enough of an advanced student by presenting XYZ offer? Figure out ways where clients may make a mistake or experience problems, and fix it before they experience an issue.

• Plan as if someone is already trying to take advantage of you. It’s not paranoid to CYA. Take a look at your business and identify pieces that are vulnerable. Do you offer payment options with zero recourse for missed payments? Are you doing work upfront without payment or a contract? What if someone copies your work or resells your resources? Have an action plan for any possible issues on this front, and consult the right people to ensure you’re covered.

• Know that you are digitally secure. Do you allow guest speakers to login to your account? If so, create a protocol to keep your social media safe. Are your templates editable and is it possible that they could be misused or deleted entirely? When it comes to tech security, lock that sh*z down.

• Create a brand reputation plan, and know your rights. In this digital space things can spread quickly. Do you have language written? Public Relations support? Do you know what counts as slander or defamation, what’s within someone’s freedom of speech rights, and what you can issue a cease and desist over?

While it’s not fun to focus on possible emergency scenarios, it ends up creating peace of mind, and allows you + your team to spring into action if something arises ✨

  • Before you build a new offer, let’s look at some hidden profit-pockets that may be lurking in your current suite:

1. Low ticket

Remember as a pre-teen when you’d get an itch to change your bedroom entirely? Mom said no. (Ugh, what gives!)

So, you opted to go hulk-strength on your furniture, and shapeshift the layout.

It made your room feel like your new, favorite space, you kept it clean (for like a week), and it was time for a sleepover PRONTO.

Oftentimes we think we need to overhaul our entire offer suite, when really ➡️it’s due for a refresh.

Is the offer still selling? Are people getting results? Is it a no-brainer for your audience? Does it work well at the top of the funnel? You can use it for giveaways / bundles?

Yes, yes and more yes? Then it’s time to edit or add additional lessons, resources, or promo copy. Make it THE BEST on the market. Use those results to take it evergreen or drive additional traffic.

BAM! An amplified revenue stream from a few hours of refinement.

2. High Ticket

This is similar to a refresh, but more focused on the structure, versus the curriculum. Has your high ticket offer been selling but it’s woefully time consuming, there’s parts you dread, or it leaves everyone with scrambled-egg brain?

First start selflessly - (No matter the time it would take you, or money you would lose) What would make this offer better for your client? What would help them see more progress?

Then go selfishly - What do you abhor doing, does it need to go or can it be outsourced? What’s a total timesuck, can you omit some calls or extend the turnaround time?

& when it’s back and better than ever, is it time to increase the price?

Sweet spot of an offer = 40-60% profit margin, if you hit the holy trinity of
1️⃣ Less time output
2️⃣More profit
3️⃣Deeper results =
➡️Optimized offer 💃and now we can focus on our marketing efforts!

  • Something I get asked about a lot is the duality of “personal brand feel” (Shannon) and “company feel” (The Social Bungalow) - and how to pivot into what you want more of.

Let’s Break it Down:

✨Personal Brands: Easy to bond with, can incorporate your personal life

•Set this up by using face to cam content, “I” statements, and speaking to your audience in a running narrative form.
•Bring in additional characters from your life (ie your pets, a S.O, the pesky mailman who always seems to ring the doorbell when you’re on a call)
•Don’t shy away from commentary on your non-business life, as questions about your workout regimen or favorite restaurant are totally expected with a Personal Brand.

📝 Company: Offers an abundance of professionalism and credibility to new followers

•Create a consistent brand voice. Do you want a “hey there” or a “sincere regards” tone? Set yourself up for a standard of communication and language here.
•While it’s great to know the CEO behind a company, don’t stress too much about sharing every detail of your personal life.
•Use less emotional language, and more fact/achievement based verbiage in your copy. This doesn’t mean it’s dry or dull, but rather your content always gets to the main point with as little fluff as possible

✌🏼Mix of Both Styles: A happy medium for the CEO who wants to enjoy a professional yet personal brand!

•Typically this happens after establishing one of the above styles. Focus in on one, for a few months and slowly introduce pieces of the other.

•Stick to a clear guide of what is within your own standards when mixing both styles. Are you known for including casual, extemporaneous stories into your professional social media? Will it confuse your audience if you drop a few curse words here and there? Make sure you know what they’re expecting from you before totally shifting how you communicate.

•Know where you’ll draw the line about sharing personal details. Don’t let a personal brand overshadow the actual work you’re putting into the business

  • I closed my first 5 figure sale while catching projectile 🤮 in a cup I held while on LIVE VIDEO!

Let me tell you how I created a fiercely loyal audience who stands by my business & mission — during my daughters 500+ day hospitalization

Imagine trying to do a live training while monitors beeped nonstop and doctors were in and out constantly

Conducting trainings on zooms while holding your Child’s hand during EKGs and ultrasounds

My daughter is a one in a million medical miracle who spent nearly all of 2018 & 2019 in a hospital room while I built a business from her bedside. Her final surgery was October 2020

Who the heck is going to trust someone without a fancy backdrop, gorgeous makeup and a life worthy of envy?

1. I went live every day showing up exactly how I was. I didn’t go out of my way to look put together, there were days I didn’t have time to shower that morning. I let my direct to the point mini trainings on IG stories speak for themselves

5 days per week, at the same time each day on IG Stories, I gave an actionable Instagram tip and I did it consistently for 8 months. (I now still repurpose some of those tips to this day! — time saver!)

2. From the minute I decided to show up as an authority I acted like one with my language. I didn’t say things like “I don’t know if this will work for you but” or “This may be wrong I’m not sure but…” I stood confidently in not letting my life circumstance take away from my expertise

3. I created a new quarterly free resource that solved a MAJOR problem and made awareness of at least 1 more problem they needed fixed with urgency to drive applications to work with me. Even while I was new, this allowed me to funnel individuals from free content —> 1:1 Intensive

Example: 7 Days of Instagram tips to bring more eyes to page —> Awareness of not knowing niche or target market & how to create content to appeal and keep those eyes

I now help business owners create a devoted community and close sales with ease with my Social Media Agency & consulting business! Follow me @kaylaybanez to start digging into the free content now ❤️

  • I needed this reminder, too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Almost a year ago I posted the second quote. Between then & now, every one of those things have happened. Some I handled with grace, some I stretched myself to figure out, some had me in bed eating oreos.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re all focused on growth - More impact, more audience, more sales, more relationships. All beautiful things. But there will come a time of “new level, new devil”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is your sign to let it sharpen you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You have so much waiting for you - and those people you’ll support, they deserve nothing less than the refined version of you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Keep going.

  • Are you partnering with someone?

Combining skills, knowledge, and experience improves value. SCORE!

Combining audiences makes for a good boost across the board: more workshop attendees, purchasers, social proof, & support for clients. DOUBLE SCORE!

Partnership Types:

Coaching offer: Group program, mastermind, course, membership
• My tech wizard Max and I creating a Paid Ads & Automations course (coming in May)!

Part of a self-study offer: Creating a certain piece
• Photography course w/ filters made by someone else

Service offer: Part of the DFY work
• Done-for-you systems setup, they own the Dubsado portion

Supporting role: Secondary coach in a program
• 100+ person group program w/ cohorts overseen by secondary coaches or bringing them in to follow up and answer Q’s

Affiliate: Promo of an offer
• Regular promotion of another’s offer beyond a live launch

From the most collaborative (50/50 facilitation) to the lightest commitment (affiliate marketing), here’s what to keep in mind:

Brand Equity & Your Reputation
a. Ensure core values match, ask Q’s about how their approach, & research beyond the highlight reel on IG. Know what you’re getting like you would before signing a client.
b. Consumers need to trust and respect us. Does this partnership elevate brand equity?

Managing Expenses
a. Who’s paying upfront, is it being split, what’s the timing?
b. “Don't lend out anything you can’t bear to lose forever;” so have a backup plan for expense management *just in case*

Pay-Out System
a. Establish amount, percentages, method of payout, and timeframe.
b. Have everything in writing and consider adding shared calendar events to make this as seamless as possible.

Expectations & Deadlines
a. Did you assume the other person would heavily promote but they haven’t posted at all? When is their work due? Who owns what portion?
b. Create a schedule together to avoid issues

Contract/Agreement
a. PROTECT YOURSELF. Pre-made templates can work or you may need something custom written
b. Things happen in business, so have a contract to fall back on to preserve your reputations and relationship!

What are your must-haves when forming a partnership?

  • Time to grow your team?✨ Here are 4 quick tips to help you succeed...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Everyone Take a Skills Assessment. (Not just an enneagram quiz, as how you emotionally process & what you're skilled at are two different things.) Once you know more about you + them, use this to further define roles & responsibilities. Try to NOT create clones of yourself. Your growing team needs differing skills & ideas.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Give Ownership. Decide who’s owning each task, and be CLEAR AS DAY that they own it, when the deadline is, and how to do a “warm hand off” to whoever is handling the next piece of the project.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Create Review Days & End of Week Standards. For example - Every Wednesday all projects with a deadline for that week must be at a “draft” point for submission, reviewal, and feedback. Edits & finalization are performed on Thursdays. Final piece is due by Friday.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Outsource Where Expertise is Lacking. Yes there’s two (or more) of you, but you still won’t perfectly cover every angle of the business. Decide what areas of the business are ready for added support, and find a niche-specific contractor to fill in with.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you have a team of 2 or more? What are your top tips for productivity & harmony?
