I love @dheiligman’s super-engrossing nonfiction— and Torpedoed just came in the mail! Shown here with my @bklynlibrary card, my trendy succulent plant and kitten Clementine Duck.
Cat/ kitten relationship update. It’s been 2 and a half weeks and she’s working her magic in tiny increments.
I have the cutest dinner companions.
Maurice Sendak’s pictures have brought me joy, curiosity, deep sadness, and laughter. I went to the @themorganlibrary show of his theatrical designs and was so moved to see images I’d never dreamed of but which seemed so much part of my existing imaginative landscape. Look. The Wild Things on swings. Hope you love these as much as I do.
Makeup. I love it. There is so much makeup in Genuine Fraud and I love this pic @palavras.jogadas took of the book. My go-to lipstick is actually a drugstore one: L’Oréal 315. A classic red. But I mix it up. If you feel like it, talk to me about feminism and makeup. I’m curious what you think.
It’s by Josiah McElheney. @mfaboston. Sometimes I share stuff just because it is beautiful. And some novels are like this, too. Don’t you think?
I am grateful for: chocolate cake, a long walk with a friend, a fun secret project to work on, and a kitten who sleeps with her tongue out. Among other things. If you’re feeling grateful this morning, tell me what for. (And yes, I had chocolate cake before 11 AM.)
I love when people make fancy photo quotes, but sometimes the simplest are extra lovely. Thanks to @phoebereadsbooks for making this image, which I am reposting. #wewereliars #quotes #elockhart #yabooks #yaquotes
I’m overjoyed to introduce you to Clementine Duck. Four months, approximately. A maker of biscuits. #kitten
