I’m playing catch up today after spending the last two days in bed thanks to a horrible migraine 🙃 I’ve had migraines since middle school and every now and then get one that truly keeps me from doing anything. I felt it coming on Saturday night, had a bad headache Sunday morning and powered through a session before coming home and going to bed around noon. I spent the rest of Sunday in bed in between throwing up. Poor Cole spent Father’s Day watching the kids and taking care of me 😅 ⠀ ⠀ Anyway, I tackled emails and sent finished up three sessions this morning, so now it’s time for a nap and hopefully I’ll be completely over this migraine tomorrow! 🙃 If you’ve messaged me over the weekend and I haven’t gotten back to you yet, I will before the end of the day, just need to give my eyes a little break! 😴

I did my first full wedding day in SIX MONTHS on Saturday and it was AMAZING! It felt so good to have a normal work day! It may not have been the day they originally planned, but I think it was probably even better! Congrats Christian + Liberty!

I got to spend the morning getting #allthethings done while Cole watched the kids and it was SO needed. The change from one to two kids is hard and combining that with everything else going on in our personal lives and the world in general and it makes for one crazy small business owner 😜 ⠀ ⠀ There’s a lot of “little” business things that I do that I don’t share because they’re not super fun. Today, I emailed with two new inquiries, made four timelines for upcoming weddings, emailed with three people about upcoming sessions, and sent out three galleries. These aren’t the fun parts of owning a business, but they’re necessary and it’s what gets me to the fun part ✨

I’ll be honest, I’ve been avoiding posting on insta lately. With so much going on in the world, it feels hard to talk about “normal” things every day. BUT, I desperately want to find some kind of new normal and am trying to get a little better at posting! ⠀ ⠀ So.... if you haven’t checked out the blog lately, do it! This beautiful #coronawedding is live on the blog! Shouldn’t these two be on the cover of a magazine?! *wink wink* @theknot @southernbridemagazine

I had the best time with Christian and Liberty last night during their engagement session! I can’t wait to watch these two get married next month! 🥰 Also, Christian definitely takes first place for most unique engagement photo I’ve taken... check out his backflip!

Oh these boys ❤️ Being their momma has been the greatest gift of my life. There are hardships that come with being a mom and I’m feeling so many of them right now. I have a toddler who hears the word “no” a million times a day. Who loves to constantly do the things he knows he’s not supposed to. I have a four month old who’s cluster feeding ever hour and just started teething. There are plenty of things that I could complain about today, but instead, I just feel so incredibly grateful. I forget about how lucky I am all the time and complain about these little things. I lose my temper and yell at Kyle for tipping over the dog dish for the billionth time. But man am I thankful for him and his mischievous ways. And for all of the joy Luke has brought us in this seriously crappy season. This is all a long way to say that this has been the best Mother’s Day yet. I’m so thankful I have these perfect little humans who love me so unconditionally that after I lose my temper and yell no, come to me for a hug and a kiss. I’m so thankful for the beautiful little smiles I get when Luke is nursing and just so excited I’m looking at him. I’m just so thankful. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mamas and the ones who made us mamas. 💕 Swipe to see what we really looked like this morning as we ate waffles, cuddled, and watched Frozen 😜

Wishing I was photographing a beautiful wedding today, but I did just get home from doing a senior session with my sweet cousin and y’all are definitely going to be able to tell we’re related when you see her shirt 😜 Check back at my insta stories in a little bit to see it!

Marry the guy that will make you cupcakes at 11:30pm because the baby is cluster feeding and you’re hungry 🧁⠀ ⠀ The guy that will watch Greys Anatomy for the SEVENTH time through just because you want to 👩🏼⚕️⠀ ⠀ The guy that will get up when he’s been on night shift and cook you lunch and watch the kids so you can take a nap 😴⠀ ⠀ The guy that makes you laugh so hard you pee a little... okay that might only happen after you’ve had two kids 😜⠀ ⠀ God only knows how lucky I am to share this life with him ❤️

More and more I feel like I’m searching for things to watch or read that fuel my soul. I love looking at lots of pretty things like home decor and organizing, funny videos, recipes for things I would love to make, but never have time to, etc. ⠀ ⠀ But honestly, sometimes those can make me feel worse. “My house will never be THAT pretty.” “I don’t have the time to organize like that or make everything from scratch.” “I can’t afford that.” HOW does Joanna Gaines do it all?! Why can’t I juggle all of that too? And don’t even get me started on parenting...⠀ ⠀ I’m feeling that way more and more during these uncertain times and am craving more realness and people that make me feel like I’m not the only one feeling that way. So if you’re like me and need something (or someone) to help fuel your soul right now, here are a few accounts that I love to follow. And if you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments!⠀ ⠀ @emilyley⠀ ⠀ @katiegrace_newberg⠀ ⠀ @rachel_allene⠀ ⠀ @laurensimmonsinsta⠀ ⠀ @oliveandtate_

Saturday’s wedding was PERFECT. I’ve been struggling with all of my weddings being postponed, especially since I’ve been on maternity leave since December and have gone a full four months without shooting a wedding. My heart has been aching for my couples, but also for myself because I truly love what I do and I miss it so much. And at this point, I’m not sure when I’ll get to do another wedding. It felt so great to get out and shoot a wedding, and even though the quarantine made it different, I think it made it even more special. Say a prayer for photographers, we really miss our clients and being there for all of the little moments.

This little man turned three months old yesterday! You came into the world at a crazy time, but man is it fun getting to love on you 24/7!⠀ ⠀ Baby Luke loves being cuddled by mama and daddy and LOVES kisses. He’s getting close to rolling over, but still isn’t a big fan of tummy time. He has a hard time sleeping because big brother tends to be pretty loud during the day, but mostly sleeps through the night with the exception of a few dream feeds. ⠀ ⠀ You are perfect baby boy and you’re such a joy in these hard times! ❤️

This is my third post today and that should tell you just how great today was! Austin and Meaghann are finally married and it may have been the greatest ceremony I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve obviously always loved weddings, but since the quarantine started, I think I appreciate them even more. Austin and Meaghann, I can’t even begin to tell you how thankful I am to have been a part of this day with you! Congrats! 💕

These two are getting married today!! While it’s not the wedding they were originally planning, the only important thing to them is that by the end of today, they’re married. I love having couples that are so invested in their relationship and remember that it’s not about the wedding, it’s about the marriage. I can’t wait to see you guys today! While being socially distant, of course 😉

Anyone else losing track of what day it is? I feel like all I’m doing right now is cleaning and telling my two year old to get off the table... neither of which seem to ever end. Send help. And lots of coffee 🙃

Confession: the only reason we got dressed today was to take a picture... and this was the best we got because pictures with a two year old and two month old aren’t easy 😜 Happy Easter! 💕

Having a two year old and a two month old looks a lot like this... two full hands while I’m desperately trying to drink my coffee. Except my hair and makeup are never done 🤪⠀ ⠀ Anyone else still trying to figure out what day it is?

Luke and I had a little stomach bug last night and spent today feeling not so great, so my parents watched Kyle for me today so we could get some rest. They came and picked him up, kept him all day, and then brought him home and brought me dinner. I definitely wouldn’t say I enjoy this quarantine by any means, but at least for today, it worked out in my favor 🥰

What are you doing during Quarantine? I’ve seen a lot of posts about people working hard on different home projects, or learning new things and I’m all for that... but I’ve decided that this needs to be time for our family to slow down. It feels like we constantly have something going on and never get a chance to truly rest. I started working just three weeks after having baby Luke, and I think God is giving me this time to rest and focus on Him. I’m basically in a state of doing work when I feel like it and spending the rest of my time loving on my boys and trying to be truly present in their lives - something I don’t get to do as much as I want while I’m spending my days editing. If you feel like you have to be productive during this time, I want to encourage you that God didn’t intend for us to spend 100% of our time working. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is just rest and be present in your own life ✨
