Final official results are now live on our website! 🏆
One thing we’d like to note along with publishing the official results is that this year, our scoring team completed an expanded post-competition verification process to ensure the highest level of accuracy across all categories, and that all teams were correctly recognized for their accomplishments.
With the tight turnaround between Race Day and Closing Ceremonies, it isn’t feasible to conduct a full line-by-line validation of every score sheet prior to awards being presented. As part of our formal post-event review, all calculations were re-verified before releasing final results.
Through this process, a small number of calculation corrections were identified. These resulted in minor placement adjustments in select categories, and teams may notice that the Top 3 has shifted for some awards. Any teams impacted with respect to physical trophies have already been contacted directly.
We’d also like to congratulate you all on doing such an amazing job this year!
The level of technical depth, innovation, professionalism, and spirit we saw across all teams was exceptional. From outstanding technical reports and creative themes, to strong race performances and team spirit, this year showcased the very best of GNCTR.
Every team should be proud of what they built, what they presented, and how they represented their schools.

Your team absolutely lit up comp this year! We love your positive energy and how you never missed the opportunity to gas up other teams. Great job incorporating your theme and spirit in everything from your tech ex to your tbogg (and @binjamin.porker)

What a week that was.
To every competitor, volunteer, judge, sponsor, and supporter — thank you for making GNCTR 2026 such an incredible success.
To the teams: you showed up with creativity, school pride, and a truly concerning willingness to put this much time and energy into racing concrete down a hill. From technical reports and safety inspections to race day runs and opening performances, you reminded us why this competition has lasted over 50 years. We hope you’re proud of what you built. You should be.
To our volunteers and judges: thank you for the early mornings, late nights, careful scoring, and constant flexibility. GNCTR does not happen without the people behind the scenes who care enough to make it run properly.
To our sponsors and partners: your support gives students the opportunity to lead, build, and learn in ways that don’t happen in a classroom. We are deeply grateful.
And to our Organizing Committee: this group gave up an unreasonable amount of time over the past two years to make this happen. The meetings, the late nights, the spreadsheets, the phone calls, and the stress were all worth it. This comp only ran because of their commitment, patience, and ability to solve problems faster than we could create them. We are endlessly grateful, and unbelievably proud of this team.
GNCTR is not a small event. Things will always go wrong. But this year’s community was consistently patient, flexible, and ready to help each other out when it mattered. If our biggest scandal of the week was the great garbage bin confiscation of 2026, then we’re calling this a win. We’ve all seen worse ;)
At the end of the day, GNCTR has never just been about racing concrete toboggans down a hill. It’s about the people you meet, the teams you bond with, and the friendships that last long after university. If you look around, many of the judges, volunteers, and organizers you met this week were once competitors too. That cycle is what keeps GNCTR alive, and we can’t wait to see who steps up next!
