Black History Month is a celebration of the achievements of Black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role they have played in U.S. history and culture. While we still have plenty of work to do, understanding, empathy and action are among the first steps in creating a more inclusive and diverse AGS. Thank you Nadira for sharing your story. #AGSincludes

From AGS President Chad Lane: “If we look, history can teach us a lot about the present day. The 1960s were a time of significant cultural and social change in the U.S. and across the globe. Over 50 years later, similar conversations and actions around inequity and integrity are still happening. With so much going on in our homes, communities and the world at large—and with so much change still needed—I’d say it’s fairly common,to feel insignificant in what we as individuals can do to make an impact. But the truth is, we all have the power to serve. Today, as we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., let’s look to his model of service and how we can answer the question: ‘What are you doing for others?’”
