Our biggest task is not about discovering self love but is about overcome the barriers we have built against it. When we find the courage to push through these walls , to know and embrace ourselves in all our humanness, our imperfections and rejections, we also open the doors to a more open, caring and emphatic connection to others. Life is constantly changing and one thing that remains constant is its impermanece. People, events, days come and go. But true self love will always remain with you when you keep nurturing it. Anything we can do that help us get rid of our feelings we try to turn to. But it's really important to do your best to sit with your feelings and emotions! Sitting with our emotions simply means allowing them to exist, resisting the urge to get rid of them, and not judging ourselves for having them in the 1st place. Here is a simple beginner's guide to get started.

The most powerful skill you can develop to inspire change, leadership & safety is active listening. This time of year is hard and learning how to listen more than speak will help you & others you care about. Tips on active listening 👂 • keep an open mind • don’t multitask during the conversation so put your phone away • avoid prejudice & don’t pass judgement • paraphrase and ask probing questions to show that you are listening and understand • don’t change the topic or make the conversation about you • make eye contact, focus on the person talking • don’t listen to respond, listen to understand • remember your body language speaks volumes Text from our friends over at @not9to5_ 🤍

Close your eyes. Put your arms on your lap or on the chair’s arm rest. Breathe slowly. Focus on your breathing. If your mind slips away to work on a problem, gently direct it back to your breathing. Counting each breath helps keep your mind from wandering away. That is all there is to it. When the time is up, I do something else. ... Wanna read more?
