• There’s never been a better time to begin a daily meditation practice. It can be formal—meaning you set aside a certain time each day to connect with your breath and quiet your mind. It can also be informal. Maybe you aim to notice your breath every time you take a certain action or see a visual cue. .

  • HOW CAN YOU LOVE YOURSELF TODAY? Take the deepest breath you’ve taken all day, and ask yourself: what is it that I need right now? Think about how your physical body is feeling. Notice the thoughts that are taking over. Remind yourself that there’s nothing you can do, in this now moment, to change anything happening outside of you. But you can go inside. You can breathe, and once you get quiet, maybe you’ll hear something. Maybe you’ll realize you need to stretch. To move your body in a way that feels good to you. Maybe you need to sit still a little longer. Or drink a cup of tea. Call a friend. Read a book. Write a poem. Go outside and hug a tree. Thank the universe for your health. Forgive someone. Forgive yourself. Recognize how you’re judging yourself and others in this most unprecedented time—and let that go.
.
Fear is all around us and inside us right now. That’s ok. Accept where you’re at. Talk to yourself how you would your best friend, your mother, your child. Feel into how you can, in this moment, love yourself a little bit more. ❤️

  • 60 SECONDS: calm your mind, clear your head, and destress with a one-minute meditation. It’s easy: just set your phone’s timer for 60 seconds, close your eyes, relax your shoulders, and just notice your breath. Imagine your breath to be like waves—in, and out; in, and out. When you notice mind wandering (and it will!), come back to noticing your breath. When the timer goes off, pat yourself on the back. You meditated. It’s that easy. .

  • Well, things here at Shyft are super quiet. And while getting quiet and learning to “be” are a big part of our mission, closing our space wasn’t part of the plan. .
We’re looking forward to the day when we can all gather and celebrate this beautiful life, together, in community. And until then, we invite you to connect with us here. .
We ❤️ our growing community. Our mission as a #nonprofit is to provide accessible mindfulness guidance—and while we’d hoped to do it “in person,” we’re doing everything we can to “shift” into this new space we all find ourselves in.
.
THANK YOU FOR BEING.
