• FANS An unexpected visit to @thefanmuseum with @flachymachy brought a few interesting experiences. First, I experience the sense of true #Englishness as the museum was founded by a wonderful Lady Helene Alexander and the House has Englishness in its foundation. Soft accent of the ticket lady and visitors that were mostly English Ladies in their 60s and 70s. Secondly, the great collection of fans that had been Ms Alexander’s passion much before the idea to create a museum came to her mind. As she said, “In times when women were collecting weapons and men fans, I did the opposite”. And you can see this in the beautiful house filled with those small pieces of art. And lastly, the Orangery in the house. I believe it was closed because of the recent refurbishment but it was a great pleasure to see the orange trees on the walls and bright winter garden. They offer an afternoon tea which I am a fan of so I am definitely coming back to experience that! And... the lady told me that there is a loft above the museum.   • NATURE I love cities. I enjoy the vibrant buzz of energy and all those possibilities that you can catch every day (once I’ve been even quoted in a newspaper with my speech about opportunities!) But on the other hand, I really enjoy silence and solitude. I like having no wi-fi connection or having just one. I like having a slow morning without the tube. I enjoy seeing roads without cars. I don’t mind the smell of countryside. Spiders in my room are more than welcome. I think I lack silence in my life keeping myself always busy and running. So here we are, in Yorkshire, two months ago.
