This morning, we received a report of a stray dog at the front entrance of our station. Once an officer found the dog, he brought her inside of the station and gave her water. Dispatcher Robertson identified the owner, Adam, and called him. He said that he had been walking his dog, Shelby, earlier in the morning and she pulled away from him, leaving him unable to find her. As you can see, Adam was overjoyed that Shelby was located 🐾 #Reunited

We stand against injustice. We stand against racial violence. We stand WITH our Black community. We denounce inappropriate use of force and lack of due care for human life; our profession is responsible for exercising compassion and restraint as we serve the community and protect people’s constitutional rights. George Floyd’s death was not only tragic, but deeply concerning. Many people are justifiably outraged and so are we. Mr Floyd’s death, among many others, has prompted conversations about race, power, and our country’s history of oppression. We hear you and are committed to being part of much-needed change. Our goal is to continue in creating a dynamic where our community feels respected and sees UPD as a part of the community, not just a response to it.

Congratulations to Community Service Officer (CSO) Supervisor Wild for graduating from SDSU with a bachelor’s degree in Geological studies with an emphasis in Hydrogeology. In between studying and working here @sdsupd, CSO Supervisor Wild participated SDSU’s Triathlon team. CSO Supervisor will be joining the American Airlines Cadet Academy to become a pilot starting this fall! In recalling some special moments at SDSU PD, CSO Supervisor Wild stated, ”Some of my favorite memories of working with UPD is having the opportunity to get involved with the community through @star_pal’s Shop with a Cop, Aztec Dance Marathon, and so much more. In addition, the people I have worked with are some of the most supportive and knowledgeable people out there. I have learned new skills which have allowed me to make a difference in the community. As a CSO Supervisor, I hope I was able to make a positive impact on others. It was an honor to work as a CSO, and I will miss it!” CONGRATULATIONS to you! We wish you all the best!
