Pray for two of our pastors, one in Pakistan and one in Bangladesh, who both have COVID-19 symptoms. Our country coordinators ask for prayer below. These and other needs are regularly updated on our COVID-19 Response page, link in our profile. Pastor Shazil*, Pakistan: One of our board members for the ministry team, Tanvir* is seriously ill for the last few weeks. He was diagnosed for pneumonia but yesterday was taken into emergency because he had difficulty to breathe. There were not good medical facilities in their city so his family took him to a nearby big city. When they arrived there the hospitals were overcrowded so they took him to another city. He got a bed in the Government hospital there and now is awaiting for his COVID-19 test results. Please pray for him. Tanvir has been a great support to our ministry. He has participated in our disaster response programs, evangelical meetings, bible distributions, local outreaches and other programs....God bless you. Pastor Darpan*, Bangladesh: Missionary Ekant* has been sick. So, pray for Ekant and his team members as they accomplish the food distribution work instead of him. This is our view and hope. Today Ekant and missionary Joshua* went to the hospital for his checkup. But the physician told them to come tomorrow after fasting for blood tests. Ekant is very weak, so remember him in your daily prayers. // #PowerOfPrayer #JesusChangesEverything #COVID19 #JesusFamily #Pray

“We are 7 people in our family. During this time, we are desperately in need of food because my children couldn’t go for work to earn money. We are praying to God for His provision every day and night. The Lord answered our prayers and because of your helping hands, we continue having food for the next one month. Praise the Lord for your kind giving toward us.” ~ Zam* in Myanmar Thank you. Your giving continues to make all the difference for hungry and starving families. “I am Lien*. I was brought up in a Laipian [a small local religious cult] family. As I was taught, I never listened about Jesus Christ. But in this pandemic time, I was not sure if the Laipian god could take me to heaven. At that time, Pastor Khaw* and his team visited my house and brought food for our family. They gave us food freely, which can feed us for one month. Not only that, but also Pastor Khaw shared with us about Jesus Christ who is the Savior of the world. I came to know that I am a sinner, who needs to be saved with the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. When he told me about this precious blood, my heart was moved because in my religion there is not the shedding of blood. Finally, I believed in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. I thank God for saving my soul. I also want to say thank you to the ones who donated food to our family.” Read Pastor Khaw’s full report from the ink in our profile! // *Names changed for safety #LookForTheHelpers #LoveDoes #Covid19Relief #GoodNews #JesusChangesEverything

The arrest of a pastor in Nepal has shaken Christians in the country. Although this pastor is not in our supported network, some of our pastors and missionaries know him. And our country coordinator, Pastor Sunil* explains the situation: The District Police Headquarters arrested a pastor with the intention to persecute him because he was a Christian, though the charge was something else. First, the police violated the law arresting him without presenting an arrest note. Second, the police itself made fake arrests on the 16th day within the custody charging on the attempt of 'religious offense' and arrested with no arrest note. Third, the police created another case in Dolpa on the same charge and transferred him overnight despite the Lockdown situation. We hoped that at the supreme court we would be given justice, but prejudice in the legal system due to 'Anti-Conversion Law, has been implemented even though there is no proof that was claimed by the police or attorney that the pastor had committed this crime. The verdict comes against the pastor and rejecting the writ for his release. From this unjust move terrible precedence is established, not only to this pastor, but against all Christians. The judicial procedure today has overruled all facts and legal/constitutional provisions and violated the freedom of religion or belief. So all Nepalese Christians need to stay watchful, since all religious activities even inside the church building will be brought under criminal offenses! I am compelled to say that today is the Darkest Day to a religious minority in the so-called secular democratic country of Nepal. We lost the equality, justice and peace as a religious minority, we lost citizen rights! // *Name changed for safety #PersecutedChurch #Persecution #Pray #JesusChangesEverything #StandFirm

In the midst of the global crisis of COVID-19, southern Bangladesh and eastern India are facing Cyclone Amphan, likely to make landfall on tomorrow (May 20th). Communities are preparing for the worst cyclone they’ve seen in years on the Bay of Bengal. We have many rural pastors living and ministering in the areas where Amphan is set to make landfall. Please join us in prayer for them, not only to be safe but also as they prepare to help some of the millions who will be impacted. // #DisasterRelief #Pray #LoveDoes #LookForTheHelpers #JesusChangesEverything

“Warmest greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you very much for all the support and help for Covid-19 relief. We were able to help 88 families, those who are desperately in need of food and help. It has been a great opportunity to share the love of God, not only by word but by action. These families are very much thankful that people who love the Lord from the States shared a portion of meal with them. It has been really a hard time for many people, especially in the city as most of them have been depending on their daily work, and now many people lost their work and job. Please kindly remember us in your prayer too. On behalf of our partners we all send our love and thanks to you. ~ Pastor Thang* in Myanmar Read our latest update in the link in our profile to learn how your giving is making an impact in this crucial time. // *Name changed for safety #HarvestBridge #LoveDoes #GoodNewsFeed #LoveYourNeighbor #LookForTheHelpers

On Monday we distributed food items to 21 children from 14 different families. They live in nearby villages, so the ministry staff from our children's school hired a few motorbikes to distribute the packages door to door. The staff members conveyed to me words of gratitude from the families. The families sent a lot of prayers for those who supported them with funds. They truly needed the help at this time, as witnessed by our staff members who visited them. Thank you so much for all your prayers and love for the Pakistani people. ~ Pastor Shazil* Link in bio to read updates and notes of thanks from local pastors in Pakistan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh about how your giving is changing lives. As we continue to respond to COVID-19, we could not be more grateful for each of you who have given, prayed, or spread the word.
