SURREAL experience today. Team Brazil and I practically free solo climbed the entire way up to one of the cliff tops in Tonsai when we thought we were just going for a hike. The view was absolutely worth the four hour trek (and potential fall to the bottom 😬). Railay beach looked incredible without boats or tourists. I’m tellin ya the best things are unplanned

Traveling is freedom, self-reliance, peace and quiet and solitude with yourself in the unknown. It is also dependence on others during unpredictable times and the promise of lifelong friendships with people of all cultures and places. Traveling can be done in many ways, but the highest rewards come with the lowest convenience. We live in a world of convenience filled with easy and fleeting pleasures, but these pleasures only provide temporary joy. Constant comfort is also convenience and comfort is not where growth lives. Choose the road less travelled. Leave your comfort zone and take risks. The hardships and trials will only enhance the deep joys that an unpredictable and unplanned experience can provide🤍

Growing up dad told me that kissing the fish you catch brings good luck. But our one fish escaped the dry bag, we didn’t catch anything else, and I got so seasick in the kayak that I almost swam back to shore. Regardless I feel extra lucky to have salty hair, warm sunshine, and fresh air 💛

“What do you seek? What do you find? Have your found your fire for life? Don’t live a lie, Align your vision with intention. This is it. Only this exists. The limitless present moment.” This is one of my favorite quotes on Tonsai. It’s painted on a faded cement wall that divides the beach from the main walkway. I’m learning so much in isolation, and like many have been forced into the present moment. The past has quickly slipped away and the future is uncertain and unplanned. This week I want to share photos of things I experience and appreciate in the present moment. I’m certainly lucky to be surrounded by incredible natural beauty and a wonderful Thai community that has provided so much. Lockdown day 24, 4/19/20
