• May first marks the official start of spring around the #weiszfarm. For the past 34 years, May 1st has been the day @weiszgreenhouse has opened the doors for the season.

Last year was such a busy and crazy year at the greenhouse with many new gardeners trying their hand at gardens, flower pots, and landscaping. The greenhouse has been a wonderful and happy place to spend my springtime since I joined the Weisz Family almost 9 years ago, and I'm so happy to be helping out again this year.

If you are local and ready for some spring and garden therapy stop in we are three and a half miles east of the Tioga turn on Highway 2. - Look for the yellow sign!

It's still pretty early to plant things, (our last average frost date is May 26th!) but we are open Monday - Saturday 10 am - 7pm.

  • Okay, let's talk blogging. As photographers we have likely heard that we should be blogging, but what do we actually need to be blogging about?

This little graphic is something I created based on a graphic that YouTube created to show their content creators what type of content they should be creating. Now Youtube calls them hygiene, hero, hub instead of help, grow, book.

So let's chat about what type of content falls into these categories.

Help- this is where you want to create content aimed at helping your ideal clients. A wedding photographer might create blog posts like Why you should have a first look, or Best time of Day for Wedding Photos.

A Newborn Photographer could blog about what to pack in your hospital bag, when in your pregnancy to schedule newborn photos.

A family photographer could blog about what to wear for spring family photos, how to get kids to smile for photos, or how to create a gallery wall with your prints.

All of these blog posts are things your ideal client might be searching for and helps to get you on their radar. You want to post this type of content rather frequently!

Now onto Grow Content-
I like to think of this content as growing your relationship with clients. This is where you can share more personal things like What your goals are for the year, a recent family vacation or date spot you enjoyed, or a home improvement project you are working on. The idea of growth content is to showcase what makes you stand out from other photographers in your field or area. Let potential clients peak behind the curtain into your life so they can fall in love with you!

Finally booking content. This will be the least frequently posted content. This is when you will share what dates you have open for sessions, announcing mini sessions, or releasing your pricing for the upcoming year. Think of this as just offering an opportunity for your followers to work with you, instead of trying to convince them to work with you.
