🎶 Our GCSE Music students had an unforgettable experience observing a live rehearsal by the Slough Philharmonic Orchestra! 🎻🎺
Seated in the middle of the orchestra, they got up close with the instruments, witnessing their size, grandeur, and unique playing techniques firsthand. This incredible opportunity was essential for their listening exam preparation, where orchestral music plays a huge role in the Concerto Through Time and Film Music topics (over half the exam!).
For many, it was their first time experiencing an orchestra live, and their reactions said it all:
📣 “Miss, this is SO cool!” – Student A
🎟️ “I am definitely going to the concert!” – Student B
Even the orchestra loved having them:
“Thank you for bringing your delightful young people along… It was fun having them amongst us as we played, and we wish them all the best in their exams!”

Our Year 7 students are stepping up their language game! 🇫🇷🇪🇸 They've been learning how to introduce themselves—sharing greetings, age, birthdays, and spelling out their names. To bring this to life, they designed personalised birthday cards with French and Spanish greetings like “Bon Anniversaire,” “Joyeux Anniversaire,” and “Feliz Cumpleaños.”
With a little help from authentic videos, they even nailed the pronunciation and had a blast singing along together!
