Our Year 7 students are stepping up their language game! 🇫🇷🇪🇸 They've been learning how to introduce themselves—sharing greetings, age, birthdays, and spelling out their names. To bring this to life, they designed personalised birthday cards with French and Spanish greetings like “Bon Anniversaire,” “Joyeux Anniversaire,” and “Feliz Cumpleaños.”
With a little help from authentic videos, they even nailed the pronunciation and had a blast singing along together!

🌍 This year, we celebrated the European Day of Languages with exciting activities that showcased our communities linguistic and cultural diversity! From learning basic Russian greetings and phrases from one of our outstanding Grade 9 students🗣️, taking part in a Spanish quiz✍️, solving maths problems in different languages🧮, an interactive geography-MFL themed game🗺️, and more! It was a fantastic opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, explore new languages, and celebrate their own heritage, all while engaging in cross-curricular learning.
💬📝 Students expressed themselves in their own languages on our 'Language Wall', one standout contribution was an impressive sentence written in Hindi by a Year 9 student, which captivated everyone’s attention🇮🇳. Students and staff also brought in cultural artefacts for a special display, along with hosting assemblies and activities across all subjects to engage students in the celebration.
🍰 We wrapped up the celebration with a charity cake sale supporting @alzheimerssoc, reminding students and staff alike of the health benefits that come from learning languages.

An unforgettable trip to London for our Sixth Form Art students! 🎨
They started at the @natural_history_museum and @vandamuseum , where students explored and photographed incredible artwork and natural forms from around the world🌍.
📸 Next, they delved into the vibrant street art near Waterloo, where the tunnel walls (and even the ceiling!) were covered in dynamic spray art—portraits, words, patterns, and comic-style fonts. They even got to see a Banksy piece in the wild! 👀
🎨 Afterward, they took in the urban energy of Soho and Leicester Square, giving students plenty of inspiration for their personal investigations and final portfolios. 💥💡
