Bonjour from our last performances in our Spring Concert Series! Grades 2 and 3 took us on a musical journey through six continents! The students entertained the audience with a variety of instruments and dances, including the recorder!, to showcase different songs and languages from around the world. Third-graders invited their guests back to the classroom to pack up their hand-made suitcases with the collection of work they’ve been working on throughout the spring. Second-graders displayed what they’ve learned about dinosaurs for their friends and family, including art pieces, storybooks, and Makerspace projects!

Shining Their Light On Our Spring Concert Series!
Grades 4 and 5 wowed the audience with their musical performances, which included drums, tambourines, dancing, special melodies, and more. “This Little Light of Mine,” “Musica Es Vida,” and “Go to the Carnival” were a few of the tunes that were performed. Their final concert piece was entitled “Wishy Washy,” which was a great segway into their Mystic Festival that followed.
In collaboration with their Mystic Seaport partnership, both fourth- and fifth-grade students showcased their year-long learning about whaling, colonialism, and apprenticeship for their friends and family. Complete with group presentations, interactive activities, and art projects, it was a wonderful way to bring their classroom lessons to life!

A Sea of Talent!
Kindergarten and first-grade students kicked off our Lower School Spring Concert Series with a musical performance all about the sea and their favorite animals! In true Hamden Hall fashion, their performance and in-class presentations incorporated many aspects of their curriculum. From music class, to science, writing, art, and MakerSpace, students shared comprehensive projects they’ve been working on in their classes. Kindergartners prepared a scavenger hunt for their guests to locate their works of art throughout the classroom, which included writing journals, art pieces, and more! Our Grade 1 students displayed their personal pieces in a museum-style setting for their friends and family to view.

Celebrating Music, Arts, and Creativity!
It was a perfect day for our annual MayFest 2024 on our Davis Street Campus lawn! Students and faculty members showcased their various talents for the crowd. Lawn game competitions took place between all of our Upper School students and many of our student-run clubs sponsored art activities such as tie-dye, graffiti art, bracelet making, cultural games, and even taste-testing tables! We are always so impressed with the many skills and abilities of our Hornets!
