I hear a lot of talk about the comparison game. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sure, it sucks, but you gotta change your mindset. Stop comparing yourself to others, and compare yourself to who you were 1, 2, 5, 10 freakin' years ago. Look how far you have come! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I was growing up, I was too shy to look strangers in the eye - literally!! Now I have two businesses that thrive off the connections I make with new people. I might not be exactly where I want to be yet, but to go from extreme social anxiety to being a little social butterfly, I'd say I've made it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now I want to hear from you!! What is a challenge that you have overcome? It's okay to be proud of it. Actually, it's awesome to be proud of it! So give me a little humble brag in the comments, because I want to tell you how happy I am for you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shoutout to @alohawishesphotography for getting a little behind the scenes of me getting the angles
Summer time in Hawaii = epic north shore sunsets, and perfect conditions for ending your session in the water! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ AND it's about to be dive season for me, yasssss! What's your fav summertime activity?
Bike life story time! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got my first beach cruiser in Hawaii back in 2015. I used to ride that thing up and down the bike path until one day.... I decided to ride it to The Eddie at Waimea Bay to avoid the shit show that was going to be the traffic situation as thousands of people came to the north shore to watch the big wave contest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The waves were over 40ft that day. Huge. But the mistake to ride my cruiser with 15-20lbs of camera equipment on my back was even bigger 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was so freakin' tired once I got there, I debated leaving the bike where I had it chained and hitchhiking back to Waialua. I ended up sucking it up and riding back into town, chained it up at the house, and never road it again. Literally didn't ride a bike for years. It ended up covered in rust and I gave it away. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SO I'm pretty stoked that I am over my trauma and have a bike again 😂😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Photo by my official iPhoneographer @jaybird__9
Please don't ever doubt yourself again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got this text from a client turned friend, who knows a bit about my story. She sent it as she and her new hubby were in tears looking at their elopement gallery. That made three of us crying! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I wanted to share her words with you, because they meant so much to me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Doubt will kill your dreams, crush your artistic abilities, and slow your growth. Believe in yourself, and keep people who support you and cheer you on by your side! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Please, don't ever doubt yourself again!
I always say I'm going to post more details and then I fail to post more details. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These super cute earrings reminded me that I wanted to show more! I'm not a big jewelry wearer, but I love love love looking at different designs and especially locally made items, so I think it's time I start investing in my own pieces. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you have a fav jewelry designer? Bonus points if they are based in Hawaii!
Hey business folks - Are you sick of the algorithm? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not me 🤷🏻♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While IG has been amazing for my business, most of my inquiries come from organic search results through my website. No matter what changes Instagram makes, I'm not stressing. That's why my upcoming workshops with @elevateandcreatehawaii are all about driving organic traffic to your business, through your website and blog. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These are topic specific, hands on workshops where you leave with an elevated business, and something you created yourself. Get it?? I'm so clever 😂 But seriously - this is a new style of workshop where we work together to custom tailor everything you learn to YOUR business. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To learn more about the workshops, you can head over to my IGTV, you can go to elevateandcreateworkshops.com, or you can check out @elevateandcreatehawaii and click the link in the bio. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Easy peasy. Hope to see you soon!
Preparing my quads for what I'm now dubbing crouching lion, limping Chelsea season. Tons of adventure sessions coming up and I'm sooo excited to get to photograph more of my fav view of Oahu!
About 5 years ago, I was extremely lost, and had no idea what the future of my photography career looked like. At one point, I almost sold all of my gear. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was so focused on what other people thought of me, and what I could do to make them happy. When I stopped and asked myself what I really wanted to do, Hawaii was the only thing that came to mind. It was SCARY. But something in my gut said to go for it. 4 years of island living and running my own business, and I can't imagine my life any other way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got here by listening to my heart, taking risks, chasing the unknown, and picking my camera back up every time I thought it was time to quit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This has now all lead me to the creation of @elevateandcreatehawaii, my latest endeavor. It's scary, but when I think about it, I get the same feeling I did when I moved here. I'm so excited to get to encourage other people (hopefully even you!) to follow their dreams, and to share everything I've learned. I'm so proud of how far the idea has come, and I hope that you join me on my latest journey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And even if you don't, I want you to know that your dreams are freakin' possible. The key is to never quit, no matter how hard things get. I almost quit a million times, but here I am.. cruisin' in Hawaii. Just some food for thought. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Photo by the amazing being @sunnyjunebug
