People with diabetes have accomplished incredible feats, like climbing Mount Everest, finishing Ironman Triathlons, competing in the Olympics, and so much more. There is a stigma around living with diabetes and it is our job to bash the idea of limitations and boundaries.β β π Diabetes will not hold you back from accomplishing whatever it is you want to do in life.β β Take Will Cross as an example of this. At age 9, he was diagnosed with Type 1. In 2006, he became the first person with T1D to climb Everest. He then went on to climb the Seven Summits β the highest peak on each continent. He never let his diabetes overshadow his dreams. Instead, he conquered the highest peaks of the world with confidence (...and a little planning).β β Letβs all focus on our own Everests. What is it that drives you? What is your peak? Tell us in the comments below πβ β Keep that thought in the back of your mind at all times and donβt stop. We are all cheering for you.β β #myDHJ #diabetichealthjournal
