If Byron Bay was a table setting... I’m pretty sure it would look like this! 😍@theotherbridesmaid did an incredible job with styling this dreamy set up at the @thegreekclub showcase last week. Would you go for these earthy tones for your wedding day? 🌾 Stationery: @lauraelizabethdesign Furniture: @avideas_ Dinnerware: @supperclubco Glassware: @tableforlouis Napkins & candles: @propitpretty
😬 Don’t be fooled... my son Tom might look like he’s having a great time in this picture... but the reality wasn’t happy screams.⠀ ⠀ 📷 Before I had kids, people used to say to me, “oh just you wait, once you have kids you’ll only want to photograph families and children.”⠀ ⠀ 🙅🏼♀️ Hahahahaha. Nope.⠀ ⠀ 🙏🏻 Give me a loved up couple annnny day of the week. Please and thank you. ⠀ ⠀ As much as I love my kids, I don’t want to photograph them all day every day... and to all the photographers who specialise in kids/babies - you.are.amazing. 🙌🏻⠀ ⠀ I love focusing on what lights me up, and working within my strengths. Do you do the same?
2019 is fast becoming the year of feeling the fear and doing it anyway for me.⠀ ⠀ ✔️I’ve re-launched my photography business for the third time in a new city, this time with 2 young kids.⠀ ⠀ 🎥 I was interviewed (on video!) by one of Brisbane’s top wedding planners Danielle from @whitewhiteweddings for her YouTube channel.⠀ ⠀ 🎧 Marketing guru @emilyosmond interviewed me for her podcast, all about my business journey which is soon to be released!⠀ ⠀ 😱 All of those things terrified me.⠀ ⠀ But I’m a big believer in saying yes, then figuring out the rest later. In my experience, the most uncomfortable things give the greatest rewards. ⠀ ⠀ Believe in yourself enough to give your dreams a go. Say YES to opportunities. Back yourself. Then watch what happens... ✨

A little piece of France 🇫🇷 but without the long haul flight...it’s my dream to photograph a wedding in Europe one day, but @deuxbelettes in the Byron Bay hinterland came pretty close!⠀ ⠀ Sasha and Jarron’s Jewish wedding was steeped in tradition and rich in love from family and friends. This wedding was photographed for @milenkoweddings such a dream of a day. More images on my stories and blog (link in bio). Xx
🤔 Have you ever allowed yourself to dream about what you want for your life? ⠀ ⠀ ⚡️Close your eyes and imagine the best version of yourself. Imagine that a decade had gone by, and you’re living your best possible ideal for yourself and your life. Dream big. Don’t put any restriction on it, don’t overthink it.⠀ ⠀ 📖 Currently reading @msrachelhollis book “girl stop apologising” and 👆🏻is an excerpt from it.⠀ ⠀ ✨Turn your ten years into ten dreams. And finally, one goal for right now.⠀ ⠀ 🔥 10 years. 10 dreams. One goal.⠀ ⠀ 📷 I photographed a 60th birthday party at this gorgeous house (pictured) and even though in ten years I’ll be 42, it inspired me for future backyard birthday celebrations! ⠀ ⠀ 👏🏻 Why not take time to dream about what your life could look like in 10 years. Write down 10 dreams, and ONE goal that you can start on now. ⠀ Are you feeling inspired like I am right now? Let me me know! Advice I’d give my younger self: ⠀ 🙅🏼♀️Stop comparing.🙅🏼♀️ ⠀ 💖Stop comparing your relationship to your friends relationships! Yes that couple is more affectionate, they hold hands in public, they compliment each other - but you have no idea what is going on behind closed doors!⠀ ⠀ 📷Stop comparing your photography work with others. Yes your style is bright and light while so many others are embracing the moody, dark images - but you aren’t dark and moody! Unfollow all photographers on social media and everyone who makes you feel less than. Stay in your lane, and focus on serving your couples and give them an amazing experience.⠀ ⠀ 😘Stop comparing yourself with yourself! Don’t get disheartened because your plans are taking longer than they did in the past. Allow the present to shape you, press into it and focus on enjoying every moment RIGHT NOW.⠀ ⠀ What advice would you give to your younger self?⠀
Let’s play a game. Wedding traditions: if you could only choose 3 from this list, which would they be?⠀ ⠀ 1. Confetti/petal toss⠀ 2. Wedding favours for guests⠀ 3. Bouquet toss⠀ 4. First dance⠀ 5. The groom can’t see the bride before the ceremony.⠀ 6. Father walks you down the aisle.⠀ 7. Having bridesmaids and groomsmen.⠀ 8. Wedding cake⠀ 9. Father/daughter dance 10. The brides veil.⠀ ⠀ Let me know by leaving a comment below! I’ll start. I’d pick 1, 4 and 6. Unfortunately I only did one of those for my own wedding! Can you guess which? #katerobinsonweddings⠀
✨✨✨VIDEO ✨✨✨⠀ swipe 👉🏻 to watch me chat with Danielle from @whitewhiteweddings all about my morning routine (full vid on my IGTV). We also recorded one on wedding photography tips for engaged couples 💍 so stay tuned for that. 😘⠀ ⠀ Here’s the back story on how I became a morning person:⠀ ⠀ I actually used to be a pretty hard core night owl. 🦉 I used to waste time during the day, until I realised the sun had gone down and I’d better get stuff done. A race against time would start, I’d guilt trip myself into working a few hours...and eventually collapse into bed waaay later than I meant to. Can anyone relate? 🙋🏼♀️⠀ ⠀ Over time, I learnt that having the self discipline to get up early impacted my confidence and productivity in all other areas of my life. It took some time to get used to, but now I’m hooked.⠀ ⠀ Here’s what I love the most about getting up early:⠀ ⠀ ✌🏻 Peace and quiet. Waking up on my own terms before the rest of the house is b.l.i.s.s.⠀ ⠀ 🏃🏼♀️ Exercise. I love smashing my workout early, it puts me in a great headspace to start the day.⠀ ⠀ 😴 Better sleep quality. Studies show that deep restorative sleep tends to be more prominent in the early part of the night, no matter your bedtime. I definitely notice I’m less groggy if I go to sleep at 9pm and wake at 5.⠀ ⠀ 🤓 Self discipline. Waking up early doesn’t come easy (at least not at first), but I’ve noticed that developing this habit impacts how well I stick to other habits I’m wanting to start too.⠀ ⠀ 🧘🏼♀️ Me time. Probably one of my favourite parts of waking up early. I find I’m generally a more patient and relaxed person if I’ve had some time to myself during the day.⠀ ⠀ I believe that ANYONE can become a morning person. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments!👇🏻 ⠀ ⠀
PROUD WIFE MOMENT. My husband Sam was on TV this morning! Swipe 👉🏻 to see part of the clip (and excuse the high pitched laughter & kid noises...)⠀ ⠀ I love seeing Sam pursue his passion and I’ll always support him following his dreams. 👨🔬⠀ ⠀ We’ve moved across the world for his work, and I’ve re established my business in 3 different cities because of his career. I’ll be honest, it hasn’t always been easy.⠀ ⠀ But it is all worth it. At the end of the day, if you’re lucky enough to be afforded the luxury to pursue your passion, it’s a wonderful opportunity.⠀ ⠀ It’s quite hilarious how an academic neuroscientist with an affinity for bugs can end up with a wedding photographer. 👨🔬🤓🦂📷💍💕🤣 #oppositesattract⠀ ⠀ What do you and your partner do? Are your careers opposite like ours?
