• The turn of seasons is my absolute FAVORITE time of year - the feeling of winter slipping away and spring stepping in very much feels like light overcoming darkness.

Those first really nice days after months of bitter cold feels so hopeful, fresh, and symbolic of new life!

This spring is going to be the best.

As I let go of singleness and prepare for the role of wife (🤯), I am so ready for what’s ahead and the beautiful changes to come!

The Lord is so good. He is constantly changing my heart for the better. My deepest desire is to live according to His will. 🤍

In what way(s) is God creating something new in your life?

  • Our annual free printable calendar is finally updated and on the blog!
(Yes, I’m aware it’s March – Two words: Wedding planning.)

We often think of a new year as a fresh start — but let’s adjust that perspective. Fresh starts can happen ANY time. ✨

YOU get to decide when to shift a mindset, work towards a goal, or pursue a new passion.

When we treat each day, week, or month with the same motivation and optimism as we have on January 1, all that new-year-new-you pressure falls away. 🤗

If anything, 2020 showed us more than ever that we live in a world of uncertainty. We always have, but it was much more present last year.

We never know what’s ahead – so if we have the time and ability to do something, don’t let it slip away!

Head over to the blog to grab your calendar! It also makes the perfect companion to our weekly planner + notepads. 📝

  • I’m embarrassed to say this, but my average phone time last week was around 6 hours per day. OOF. Not. Okay. Most of that time was for work, it wasn’t mindless scrolling - but STILL, my habits have gotten WAY out of hand.. boundaries have totally slipped. 😅

When this happens, there are 3 things I do to get back on track with phone habits!
→ Do 1-2 tasks before checking it
→ Keep it out of sight
→ Turn off notifications

This week, my goal is to bring that daily average down by at least 20%. If you’d like to join me in this spend-less-time-on-phone challenge, drop in ‘I’m in below 👇🏼, and get excited to add hours back to your day!!

  • Fun fact: I’m an extroverted introvert. Introverts are often thought of as shy and reserved, but that’s not always the case. I LOVE being around people, going out, being social, but at the end of the day, I recharge with some quiet, solo hibernating. I’ve always been a homebody - even before it was the thing to do 😆
.
Are there any other extroverted introverts here?! This may be you if —
.
→ Your energy level is impacted by your surroundings. The ambiance of where you are can either drain you or energize you.
→ You recharge with alone time or being around one other person.
→ You can make small talk about the weather when necessary; but prefer deep, authentic conversation and big ideas.
→ You may be perceived as quiet at first, but the more someone gets to know you - the more extroverted you seem.
→ You invest in a few close relationships.
.
I would love to know what type of personality makes you, you - are you introverted, extroverted, or an extroverted introvert?!

  • Write down something you’re grateful for each day. It doesn’t have to be extreme.

Maybe your mom called, or you had a great workout. Maybe you enjoyed a delicious meal with someone you care about, or you learned something new, or you were able to help someone who needed it.

Being mindful of these ‘little’ things will help you to recognize more of the good in each day.

With negativity constantly at our fingertips, it’s easy to become consumed by the bad things happening in the world.

There is so much positivity to be seen if we just open our eyes and hearts to it. Gratitude journals are a tangible way to shift our perspectives and recognize all we have been blessed with. 🤗✨

✖️Create more✖️
-It’s funny to think about how when we turn what we love into a business, we get away from doing what it is that we actually love. But it doesn’t have to be that way!
-Often times it feels like 98% of time is spent on behind the scenes + admin work and 2% on creation. I want to be better about scheduling time just to create, otherwise it doesn’t happen.

✖️Bring the blog back to life✖️
-Consistency with blogging is something I’ve struggled with for a long time. It’s not our main bread and butter, but it’s something I enjoy so much. One post can take several hours and no matter how hard I try, it always starts off great but eventually falls to the back burner..
-I see the opportunity though, and I’m not giving up! I’m determined to figure out a process to make this happen in a way that’s valuable to you AND makes sense from a business perspective 😎

✖️Finish the online education and courses I’ve enrolled in✖️
-AND implement what I learn!
-Investing in your expertise not only adds value to your work, but saves you so much time! Search engines are a great resource, but piecing together bits of information doesn’t always provide the full picture - AND it’s time consuming. As your time becomes more and more valuable, learning from an expert really pays off!

✖️Work from a place of rest, not stress✖️
-Last year was the first time I experienced true burnout. I used to think burnout meant you didn’t like what you were doing anymore - turns out, that’s not the case at all!
-I was working 12-14 hour days because we were in our busiest season yet, it was amazing! However, my sleep, mood, and food all suffered for a bit. It’s a chain reaction, my energy was at zero. And now I have gray hair. So, I’m going to try to prevent this by planning ahead and being intentional with my workload.

Let me know your thoughts! What are some of your focuses for the year?! 👇🏼🤗
