Cheers to the weekend 🥂 Cheers to your dreams ☁️ Cheers to your passions ❤️🔥 and trying new things! Be daring, be different, + embrace what the world brings ✨
I see a lot of solopreneurs choose their favorite colors + call it a day If you've decided to DIY until you can hire a brand designer, you should know how colors interact with one another + why choose certain ones Sure you can totally pick your favorite color as apart of your branding but that shouldn't be where you stop. We aren't Coca-Cola, Apple or Facebook. As online businesses we need to develop a deeper, more comprehensive brand to support us– and that includes using color to our advantage! Ok so, why the heck should you care about color theory? Colors evoke emotions + people are drawn in by ones they like + ones give them the feeling they want from a product or from a brand they purchase. Knowing how to mix + match colors is the first step in creating a color palette To begin– let's talk about how colors are organized. We're gonna rewind to grade school just a little. Colors are organized on the color wheel + put into 3 categories: Primary colors – these can't be created by any other color + are the root of every color Secondary colors – the "children" colors of each pair of Primary colors Tertiary colors – the six "in-between" colors on the wheel, they are a mixture of a Primary + their closest Secondary color Looking at the color wheel is the easiest way to see if the colors you choose are cohesive + compliment each other. In the world of design there are a couple ways to look at the wheel to see if the colors are a good fit together: Complementary – On opposite sides of the color wheel. These colors... well compliment each other + have a sharp contrast Analogous – Sit side by side on the color wheel. This trio of colors have harmony since they are all in the same range on the wheel Triadic – Evenly spaced around the color wheel. They are usually the most dynamic combination. It creates visual contrast + harmony for your branding and marketing materials At the end of the carousel are a couple more real-world color palettes I created to show these methods in action, as well as some color websites I love to look through for inspiration! Drop a 🎨 below if this helped you think about the colors in your DIY branding!

But if you’re curious now… Tell me, what’s one thing you’d like to know about how fonts + a color palette can help elevate and change your brand right now– comment below! #brandstrategist #soulpurpose #brandingstudio #creativeladydirectory #shemeansbusiness #ownyoureveryday #buildalifeyoulove #branddesigner #alifeofintention #womenwholead #herestothecreatives #hersuccess #raiseyourvibe #brandpurpose #conciousbusiness #womenwithambition #smallbusinessbranding #herestothecreatives #brandinginspiration #womenwithaplan #solopreneurlife #livewithintention #creativeentrepreneurs #fuelyoursoul #behindthebrand #brandstylist #artistsmeanbiz #freelancelifestyle #brandstylist #brandingexpert
New design weeks make me so fricken happy 🤗 Diving into a fresh brand (or rebrand)… there’s no better feeling to a designer! From my initial client call with my deep-diving questions into their business, a peek behind the brand + how they truly want to be represented… I kinda feel like a mind reader 🔮 When I can piece together those answers into a few moodboards to represent the feeling they want their clients to feel… and then beyond with graphics, textures + fonts *chefs kiss* (they really need this emoji lol) Here are the moodboards from this week’s client– comment below which is your favorite!
First things first: Your gifts + talents are made for this world and there are people out there who need them + will pay you for them. Building an online business can have its not-so-lovely moments. You can feel stuck, lost or just burnt tf out 🥵 The biggest struggle I’ve faced (especially in the very beginning) was feeling like I wasn't going anywhere; like time was passing + I wasn’t growing And I know I’m not alone, others have told me they struggle with this too. I mean how can we not feel this way while building our businesses online? We know we see it– others boasting about booking clients every single day, seeing high-number PayPal payouts on stories to show off their success... it can be inundating if I’m being honest; especially when we’re also trying to get to “that moment” But you know what they aren’t posting? How many hours they put in after dark. How many coaches they paid, how many programs or courses they took (how many worked + didn’t work!!) How many times they thought about giving up. How many times there was a glitch in the technology they were using. The list goes on… No one talks about the TRUE journey. They post the bright + shiny moments because that’s what social media has taught us to do. And then we believe that everyone who is successful, did it overnight Listen, I’m not saying that we can’t aspire to be these people boasting about being totally booked. And I’m VERY sure we’d all love to make hundred of thousands of dollars; but there’s work + time we have to put in to get us there Just because our business is taking TIME, doesn’t mean that it’s not happening If you’re working in your business + on the things that you should be to move the needle forward, you’re going to get there. It may not be tomorrow, it may not be next week, but YOU ARE GOING TO GET THERE Don’t get blindsided by the bright + shiny stories on Instagram– mute or unfollow as needed Keep going babe. Take breaks. But know you are needed + don’t forget you’re amazing 💖 Tag a friend or share this post!
