GLOWY CELERY JUICE HACKSā£ š±š±š±ā£ Itās PMS time over here and Iāve been experimenting with anti-inflammatory practices to keep the pain away. One trick that worked like a charm last month was having some celery juice each morning (on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before eating) the week leading up to and during my period. ⣠⣠But if youāve ever tried it, you know how time consuming making fresh celery juice can be. Here are my hacks:⣠ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ⣠ā£Ā wash and cut up celery the night before⣠ā£Ā use a blender instead of a juicer for quicker clean up! I blend mine until it starts to get kind of liquid-y (you might need the help of your tamper with a Vitamix or little water if your blender seems to be struggling), pour into a nut milk bag then milk the celery cow until the pulp is dry.⣠ā£Ā I know youāre supposed to drink it immediately, but I cheat and save half for the next morning. Shhhh, donāt tell. To me, itās better than not doing it at all.⣠ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ⣠Oh and my last tip for you: start slow. Celery juice is POWERFUL and cleans you out, you know. So start with 4oz and go up from there. Donāt say I didnāt warn you.⣠ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā£ š±š±š±Try it out during your next cycle! If it helps, yay! If itās not a fit for you, who cares! Take what you need from wellness and leave the rest behind.š±š±š±

JUNETEENTHā£ā£ āØāØāØā£ā£ āJuneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.Ā Ā Dating back to 1865, it was onĀ June 19thĀ that the Union soldiers, led byĀ Major General Gordon Granger, landed atĀ Galveston, TexasĀ with news that the war had ended and that theĀ enslaved were now free. ā£ā£ ā£ā£ Note that this wasĀ two and a half yearsĀ afterĀ President LincolnāsĀ Emancipation ProclamationĀ - which hadĀ become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the newĀ Executive Order.
