Thank you @ashley_delauro for the inspirational share! You inspired me: . . When I was 28 I started my life over. . . I was working for a small company in LA and under serious amounts of stress as the company was having challenges getting off the ground as well as poor financial planning. . . I remember being so unhappy and scared that the results of the company were leading towards it failing. I had invested so much of my heart and time into these projects I was too attached to let it go easily. Due to the state of my mind and body, I developed digestive issues and unable to sleep. I remember my Gastroenterologist telling me I am at a high risk for Pre-esophageal cancer, and that normally he never sees that in young patients 😳! Imagine hearing that. Yup I was scared. . . The company failed. I felt like I failed. I felt like a fool. After getting laid off a few months later, I chose to move back home to “figure out my life” 🙈 and take care of my body. I was sad, and embarrassed that the company failed after so much I invested into it as well as moving back home. . . I was at the gym everyday as fitness was my saving grace especially getting through the transition. Every workout I did, I slowly felt the stress melt away 🏋🏻♀️. I regained my confidence 😀. I felt stronger and I knew in my heart my health wasn’t worth the price of a company. . . I reclaimed my power and I honestly asked myself, “what do you love to do, and why?”. The answer was “I love to move, practice Pilates and challenge my fitness abilities.” I took action and signed up for one of the best Pilates Teacher Trainings there is. I kept wanting more education, more opportunity to teach and grow - so I created a path doing just that. . . 8 years later, I’m here living my passion and teaching others to discover the power they have in their bodies. It wasn’t an easy road and it surely wasn’t a straight path. But it was my love for fitness, truly helping people and the desire to grow that got me here. It was uncomfortable and scary but I’m so grateful. . . Now I get to teach others that your fitness is your saving grace through the ups and down of life, and it’s your commitment to it that matters.
One Arm Side Lateral Incline Raise - on a stability ball 👌🏻! . . I love changing the angle of an exercise. Typical Standing Side Lateral Raises begin to resist gravity at about half way from lifting the weight from your side. When you’re on a incline bench, or even a ball like here- you can work against gravity from the start of the exercise. . . This also means to go lighter with your dumbbell. Your Medial Deltoid will be working 💪🏻! . . Why am I using a stability ball? 1️⃣ Because it will give me feedback for using momentum and I’d feel myself bouncing. 2️⃣ I can use the angle to create isometric trunk support (Obliques, TVA, hip position) which also adds a challenge with being lateral on a stability ball. . . Mix up the angle of fundamentals and you will see and feel a change in your body! . . . . . #stabilityballworkouts #stabilityball #shoulderworkout #fitlife #deltoidworkout #isometric #abdominal #mindfulaxis #homeworkouts #tonedarms #strongwomen #shoulderworkout

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results. ~ Jack Dixon . . We often look to the outside to get the results we want because we want to escape the CHANCE to CONNECT and CHANGE our own body. We often want to BE like SOMEONE ELSE and even LOOK LIKE SOMEONE ELSE, comparing our body to others. Trust me I’ve been there! Dwelling won’t create change. ACCEPT your body RIGHT NOW. . . The average person can spend tons of money 💵 over and over on books, diets, plans and products! But if they all worked we wouldn’t have so many people falling off the wagon and lacking commitment to changing their body long term. . . Don’t follow the crowd because the results don’t come from the uber attractive empty programs that promise you THE PERFECT BODY in 30 days! Be a SMART CONSUMER! Research 🤓! The info is out there. . . We are bombarded by well designed attractive marketing promising us RESULTS! Heck there is always a HOT NEW superfood (coconut oil) or a NEW offender like Lectin (Plant Paradox Diet). And it’s not your fault for buying into creative marketing for programs, books, plans etc. Marketing specialists design this for you to BUY it! 😝 . . If you don’t TRACK what you do for exercise, eat, and how you treat yourself- how do you know what to change? These products and plans don’t have the custom ANSWERS for you! But YOUR body has the answers. The more you KNOW your body you will actually GET the results you WANT! . . 1️⃣ If you TRACK your EXPERIENCE of how you react to certain foods, you will know what works and what doesn’t for weight loss, energy and nutrition. 2️⃣ If you TRACK your EXPERIENCE of getting great results when you exercise 3x a week versus 1x a week and you SEE it in your body-you will know that frequency of working out is where change happens for YOU. . . What to do? TRACK. MAKE CUSTOM CHANGES. KEEP THE FOCUS ON YOU. MAKE MORE CHANGES. BE CONSISTENT. PRACTICE COMPASSION WITH YOUR BODY. ❤️ . . . . . 📷 @tri_nguyen_photography #trackyourmacros #mindfuleating #intuitiveeating #trackyourfood #besmart #loveyourbody #mindfulaxis #createchange #changeyourbody #plantparadox #myfitnesspal #mindfulness
Motor control of your scapula is a “Sticky” situation for most people 🍯 😝! . . By Sticky, I mean poor mobility with range of motion. That can prevent poor overhead press without the proper range of the shoulder, and lead to poor shoulder mechanics. . . So how can you improve Sticky Scapulae's? MOVE them! The goal is to feel them glide smoothly across your back. . . Adding resistance to practice your stability of the Scapula is great too! (Light Assisted pull-up band is what I’m using). . . 1️⃣ Band High Front Raise challenges the retraction of the Scapula towards the spine as you rise up. Keeping the spine in slight extension also helps keep the back supported. 2️⃣ Band Squat Overhead Press challenges keeping the pressing movement even, engages the Serratus Anterior & Trapezius to support with upward rotation of the Scapula. . . . . . #shoulderworkout #shoulderstability #shoulderrehab #rehab #armworkout #resistancebandsworkout #resistancebands #strongarms #crosstrainning #physicaltherapy #pilates #homeworkout #strongwomen #mindfulaxis #mindfulmovement
